if I change your layout before the account expires you can keep it after the account expires. the only pre-exsisting perks they take away (that I know of) are the extra icons and the option to make layouts or use polls in the future. They don't just strip your journal.

they don't take away the ability to change around the format/layout. at least when i made mine, as simple as it is, it was an option. i'm pretty sure it still is. i'd love to change mine -- i just don't have time to do it. but i'm pretty sure free accounts are still able to make their own if they know how to do it/where to put any html/css/javascript/etc.

I wouldn't want to suck up your time. :D Anyway, I have a layout that I saved a long time ago, perhaps I'll just use that. Gotta update the images and so forth, but it will work.
