The Seven Deadly Sins of Success

Dec 07, 2005 09:22

With advancing age, it's unsurprising to find yourself surrounded by siblings getting married whilst their friends are having babies. The offshoot of these exercises is unfortunate: myriad sneaky little children circling around your kneecaps, smiling sweetly whilst they ask you to check the spelling on their latest offering for Santa. It’s not ( Read more... )

Ooh thank you!

How's it going? I did think of you the other day, since I've started @ Mary's and got myself mired in path revision!

I'll stick the personality disorder piece up for you soon :)

Have you perchance seen any of the 2004/5 path past papers floating about? Nothing beyond 2003 seems to be doing the rounds on email :/

I pay very little attention to the location of past papers these days but I'll see if Dr Walker has copies (assuming she's back at work next week, she was semi-disabled last week by an angry ram!)

Hello...you do write well. How's the course? When do you finish?

I'm...OK...I think. One of my fellow consultants is definitely 'Borderline' and I'm slowly recovering from the trauma of too much interaction with her ("They’re known to form intense personal attachments to be flippantly dissolved as and when it gets inconvenient." -> exactly!). Unfortunately, unlike medical firms, I don't think she's going anywhere, anytime soon...

We also have a narcissist, just to make the mix a little more toxic. *sigh* So, yeah, I'm mostly OK with the occasional day where I hide under my desk and wish to be far away!

But anyway...apart from all of that I nearly brought the exam system crumbling around me when I mentioned past papers to MM Walker.....she nearly exploded!

LOL @ the thought of MMW exploding! She really shouldn't when O&G have openly given us a bank of past questions (99/00).

Pathology does collect the most interesting selection of lecturers - I'm not sure whether it does collect the people others find hard to put up with..though going by the two you've just told me about ;)

O&G finishes on the 16th, with path, paeds and psych falling on the 29th and 30th.

Hopefully, retakes won't be a feature of my final year, which begins on the 24th of July if the UMO website is to be believed. Only three weeks holiday and Dr Meeran already is searching for volunteers to help him out with the path EMQ database!

I'm not exactly sure how many hours he wants for £120 a week.

Speaking of money, I've got two Bauhaus tickets I need to sell (face value). Two people I bought tix for are now unemployed. Have you got any friends interested in going?
