I'm so stiff and hurty today. And all for my own clumsiness!
Saturday I went for a 5 mile walk on the Goshen Heritage Trail. It was very nice out, not too hot, with a good breeze. I'd walked even farther than that before, but not for a VERY long time. So afterwards my feet and legs were killing me.
I was still really sore yesterday, so I decided to take the day off exercies. I did some cleaning, went to the farmers market in Warwick. I bought plums, doughnut peaches, radishes, lettuce and beets! Then I went home, to pick some tomatoes and cucumbers from the parent's garden. It was raining then, just a light drizzle, but as I was going down the stairs of the porch in my flip flops, I slipped and tumbled down the stairs. I landed and for the first couple of seconds was just like, "Ohhhhhh, Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhh........." some cussing, moaning, then got up and checked myself out. A scrape on my arm, banged up foot. I'll live, but I was just like, "Wahhh!!!!!!!!"
So I limped over to the garden, opened the fence, and processed to scratch my arm on the dang wire. Picked some veggies, managed not to cut myself again.
After a bit, headed back to my apartment, and cooked up a storm. I'd watched Julie and Julia the other day, and afterwards I was seriously brainwashed, just kept chanting, "Must...make..French...Foood!!!!!!!!!"
Heh, heh. So last night I whipped up some brushetta, roasted beets, for a beet and goat cheese salad for today, and I made one French recipe from Julia C.'s cookbook. The roast chicken stuffed with a stuffing of herbs, cream cheese, fresh breadcrumbs and chopped up onions and organ meats (whatever came with the chicken). I didn't do it exactly as the recipe, because I had no string for trussing, and had to subsititue some herbs, but it came out pretty darn good! :D
The brushetta turned out pretty good as well, and I just had the beet and goat cheese salad and I gotta say that taste combo really works well together. I'm really glad to, because I was starting to get really sick of the same old salad: lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and olives and feta cheese.
Oh, and this morning? I cut my finger slicing bread. I'm going to end up breaking a dang limb!
