that sucks about the insurance issues. do you know what the doctors are listing as insurance reason? i think mine are listing the claim or whatever as 'endocrine disorder' or something to that end, vague and etc, so the insurance doesn't give problems or have it listed clearly. If you're still having problems across the board with insurance coverage and everything, I'd again suggest checking out callen-lorde. Not really conveniant or whatnot at the moment for you since youre not in NYC, but perhaps when you get back if you're still having problems. they do have a lot of protocol stuff that you have to get through first though. definitely an option though if the other stuff causes too much trouble. hopefully your next appt will go better though! oh yeah and changing your name with NYU is ridiculously easy (and they didn't ask me for a court order so that doesn't even have to be done). I guess it's all computerized because I brought the filled out form to the registrar's office, gave it to the guy, and it was processed within a few days. you do need the form to be notarized though (i think you can get that done at a bank that has a public notary, that's what i did. some are free, some aren't.). And also for whatever reason the housing system isn't connected to the registrar, so you need to change your name in both places, but change with the registrar first.
