Week Two.

Very interesting topics covered in this weeks lecture! From the study of the two poems, ive found that i am particularly intrigued by the age-old arguement that is the opposing views of love, passion and romance between the sexes. Unlike the love that is at times described in these poems as being of the "rotten" and "unripe" variety, i find that no matter how old it gets, like a good piece of gossip, this argument remains fruitful and interesting, albeit unresolvable!

However, i wish to share with you a little poem that i wrote down in my Commonplace book earlier in the week, which is kind of opposing all that we have studied this week, ironically enough. I based it on a regular customer/ friend at my work who shared with me that he was going to tell his girlfriend that he loved her that day over coffee. it put me in a bit of a lovey-dovey mood, and thought his gesture was rather cute!!!

Stars align
Gods are kind
today must be the day!

Approach changes
wording rearranges
When thinking of the words to say .

Together now
without a doubt
in a world of private glee

Young hearts flitting
Puzzle fitting
Smiling unintentionally.

Timid glance
awkward stance
shyness to overcome

Eyes then meet
hands and lips greet
"I love you" and they are one.

I also commented on Nancy McKibbn's livejournal, which can be found here: http://nancy-m.livejournal.com/19108.html?view=26532#t26532

Dear Nancy, that was a fantastic poem! i especially loved how you describe everything with such clarity, and with such a good use of language: "clipped her wings with his own fears"! brilliant! I also happen to believe that "Love is truth and truth is beauty", and try to live by that everyday.
keep up the great work =)
