almost a review of GLASS SKIN, but not really
Listened to GLASS SKIN today. Well, this song definitely disappointed me. Fucking hell, Kyo, if you can't hit the notes, DON'T WRITE MELODY LINES WITH THEM. KAY? Or like, sing in falsetto or something. ANYTHING.
The guitar is kind of boring, too. Kind of 90s VK sounding. Meh. Not my thing at all. I hope the rest of the album is better.
BUT. THE THING ABOUT THE VIDEO THAT IS PRETTY AWESOME IS HOW DIE CAN'T STOP HIMSELF FROM TOSSING HIS HAIR LIKE A L'OREAL COMMERCIAL, EVEN WHEN IT'S BEING CAPTURED ON FILM FOR ALL TIME. DUDE, HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING FROM HANGING OUT WITH METALHEADS? AT ALL? YOU LOOK LIKE A FUCKING PONY.
Also, lol @ the dragon/dinosaur things. Oh, you guys. Was that supposed to be cool? Have you spent too much time around Yoshiki and are now going to become power metal? Or is this to be blamed on Kaoru's nerdiness? He was all GUYZ I HAVE THIS GREAT IDEA, LET'S HAVE A SHOT OF SOME PARTICLE ACCELERATORS AND SHIT AND--

And Kyo said, "That is such a good idea! I take it back, I'm doing that next time, you can forget your dinosaurs," and Kaoru was all, "TOO LATE, I ALREADY TEXTED THE CGI DEPARTMENT AND TOLD THEM WE'RE PUTTING IN SOME GODDAMN PTERODACTYLS. HELL YEAH." Kyo was not happy about this at all. That's why he had them record the song in one take and then said "FUCK YOU, WE'RE NOT DOING ANY RETAKES. THIS IS ALL YOU GET. I DON'T CARE IF I SOUND LIKE A DROWNING CAT." Come on, you know I'm right.
