214/365: Cirque du Soleil

Aug 03, 2009 18:37

Yesterday I took my mom down to LA for lunch and to see some performances of Cirque du Soleil at The Grove. They were going to have acts from the 6 Vegas shows during the afternoon. It ended up being a lot of waiting around just to see one tiny song from a show. But at least now I can say I've seen some of it live. Heh.

Me and my mom.

The crowd. So many people. We stood out in the sun for the first act, then found shade for the rest 'cause it was way too hot.

The clown guys who came out and introduced each act.

We missed two good acts while we were eating lunch. And then of course the performances took an hour and a half break so we had plenty of time to kill before they started up again. Walked around some shops to try and stay cool.

They had some circus type things set up on the grass for kids. We didn't venture in. They had bubbles.

These boys found a good spot to watch from.

Zumanity. This one was awkward to watch. It's a very adult show, and the crowd was full of kids.

BELIEVE. We watched this one from the parking garage so we could make a quick escape. Heh.

P.S. I have some footage of the performances HERE.
