Dodgers and Hollywood Stars Games, June 21, 2008

Jun 22, 2008 16:50

First, the regular Dodgers game, then the Hollywood Stars. Tons of picture thumbnails behind the cuts. You've been warned.

I'd never been to a Dodgers game. I picked up Pam around 11 and we headed down. My tickets had printed funny, and I didn't notice until after we tried to get in and it was giving an error. So we had to go to a ticket booth and get them to look us up and print out real tickets. We climbed up to the top deck and found our seats. They were in the sun, but close to getting the shade. It was crazy hot though. I proceeded to melt for the next 4 hours, even when we made it into the shade. I'd loaded up on the sunblock, and I didn't get burned at all, but with all the sweating my sunscreen ran into my eyes and kept making them water and turn read. I looked like I was really upset about the game, lol. The game went into extra innings with the Dodgers finally losing (7 to 2!) in the 11th. They'd been tied until that inning. Random pics:

Interesting choices for headgear

Complimentary cups of ice FTW!

Oh, and there was a game happening down there too.

So the game finally ended and Pam and I left to find our way down to the field level where Roz was and where we could go and watch the Hollywood game. I got us lost because you had to go outside and down all these different staircases and I got all turned around. I had to ask for help twice, but we finally got down to the far end of the field level and made our way towards the middle where Roz was saving us seats. They'd already done most of the introductions by then, so we missed hearing who all was there and what teams they were on. But we got seats, moved to a closer row a few minutes later, and settled in to take pictures. We were right behind home plate.

My pictures include:

The Blue Man Group

White Team
Zachary Levi (#13)
James Van Der Beek (#11)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (#27)
Sean Astin (#28)
Garry Marshall (#20)
Samm Levine (#9)
James Denton (#18)
Kendra Wilkinson (#2)
Neal McDonough (#21)
D.B. Sweeney (#24)
Adam Carolla (#23)
Carlos Mencia (#19)

Blue Team
Joshua Gomez (#1)
Camryn Manheim (#19)
Cristian de la Fuente (#12)
Tom Arnold (#16)
Michael Rosenbaum (#7)
David Arquette (#20)

There were other people, but I don't know them or couldn't recognize them because of the hats and sun. It took looking at professional pics to even realize I had pictures of a couple people, lol.

The Blue Man Group came out for the first pitch. They were using a giant sling shot, but it kept misfiring (on purpose), so one of them finally picked up the ball and threw it. Ta-da.

The Blue Team

Zachary Levi, with extra high socks, was warming up like he was going to be pitching before being sent back to the sidelines. He threw down his mitt and did a silly walk in protest.

Camryn Manheim getting ready to bat.

I was looking to the side and when I looked back, I saw this: Camryn Manheim and Tom Arnold rolling around on the ground. No idea what was happening, lol.

The White Team

James Denton

Adam Carrola

D.B. Sweeney

David Arquette in the white pants and hat

Kendra Wilkinson

James Van Der Beek

Sean Astin

Carlos Mencia

Camryn pitching. And giving Kareem some advice? lol

Michael Rosenbaum

Zachary Levi

During the regular game, there were some guys in these costumes out in the stands. Dressed up as a piece of pizza, fries, and a hotdog. During the celeb game they must've drawn the attention of Joshua Gomez, 'cause next thing you know he's dressed as a piece of pizza.

The White Team went after the ref for some call. Kicking dirt and all. The Blue Man Group came out with a eye chart to check his sight.

Not to be outdone, Zach Levi dons the french fries shirt.

D.B Sweeney getting interviewed. Kendra looking out at the audience. The rest of the white team milling about.

Samm Levine

Pizza!Josh at bat. Deciding where his ball will go: To the left, to the right, down below?

Cristian De La Fuente. Makes it to second with only one arm!

Neal McDonough

James Denton, James Van Der Beek, DB, Sean, Neal

I don't know who this guy was. But he was a good catcher.

White Team celebrating a run

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Very, very tall.

Zach going to give the costumes back and then signing autographs during the game.

Garry Marshall and Sam Levine coming in at the end of the game. White team won! Neal McDonough is happy.

After the game we started trying to get closer and to the side where we saw Josh and Zach heading. I didn't even pay attention to where the rest of the celebs were going. We couldn't get into the very front section easily so I don't think we would've had much luck getting them anyway. But Zach and Josh are always entertaining and nice. They were throwing out their wristbands, and I think Zach might've given away his bottle of water. People were asking him for his hat. And I think there might've been some request for a shirt 'cause at once point Zach was lifting up Josh's jersey to show that he had another shirt underneath. I didn't hear what was going on.

James Van Der Beek was over on the side signing autographs too.

More Zach and Josh

Me and Joshua Gomez. I'm all sweaty and gross. Ew.

We finally left once security took the boys away and kicked us out, lol. Way easy to find your car when you're among the last people there though!
