Taylor is Coming!!
It's probably a good thing I'm here alone because I just spent a couple minutes screaming and jumping around the kitchen. No, Clay Aiken hasn't announced when he's coming to Indiana this summer (yet). But they did announce the entertainment for the county fair last night and we're getting Taylor Hicks!! American Idol Taylor Hicks at our county fair. Normally we get up and coming country artists and old school rock groups. For example, the rest of this year's lineup includes Rodney Atkins, Chicago, and Loverboy. Chicago is actually kind of a big deal, I guess. Last year it was Styx. The reason we usually don't get the big name acts is that our grandstand shows are free. As long as you're at the fair (and paid your $9 admission) you can sit in the grandstand and see the show for free. Which is why there's no saving seats, because people will camp out all day for the show. You can pay around $25 to sit on the track, which is a pretty good deal. I've done it before for Aaron Tippen. I'm always excited to see who's coming to our fair. We've always gotten some really good acts. Year ago, I saw Faith Hill before she was married to Tim McGraw. I can't wait for track seats to go on sale, I'm totally going to see Taylor Hicks. I think I only could be more excited if they had announced Carrie Underwood. I know they can't afford Clay or Kelly Clarkson!
In other news, Tuesday was 73 degrees, yesterday was 64 degrees, and this morning there was snow on the ground! I actually gasped when I came downstairs and saw all the white out the sunroom windows. Luckily, it wasn't much and it's already melting. It's only 38 degrees, but sunny, so hopefully no more snow!
I can't wait for spring to start next week.
