NOVA CITY

The city to the north was something straight out of a science fiction novel. Flying cars, teleporter pads, and so on were all over the streets. Houses in the sky, helper robots, and on and on everywhere you looked. In the distance was the announcement that the latest shuttle to the moon was leaving in a few minutes.

Of course, immediately around the gate there wasn't quite the glut of technology that there was in the main part of the city but it was still quite impressive. However, Six largely ignored it. After coming here so many times, he didn't bother to stop and gawk.

The instant Lucas passed through the gate to Nova City, the immediate mission was forgotten. Lucas grabbed at his head, for fear it may explode from all the awesome.

"Woooah! Look at that!" He gaped, pointing at a sleek car flying by. "Look at that! Wow!"

Six stopped, looking back over his shoulder with some amusement at Lucas. "I told you they had flying cars."

The younger man looked like he was having the time of his life.

"Well, yeah but...WOW!"

Lucas took a few bounding steps ahead of Six. "I wonder if they have transporters! Or...like, replicators or something. Check out these robots!"

Good thing he didn't have a camera on him, or this would be a long scouting mission.

All he needs is a camera and a baseball cap that says "I <3 Nova City". And sandals with socks.

For a moment, Six debated dragging him back on subject, but...

"Well, we are here to look around. Might as well look and see."

It would get the obvious tourist bug out of Lucas's system along with giving them a good look over Nova City. Of course, Nova City--in comparison to Genessia itself--was absolutely enormous. He'd yet to reach any of the boundaries in his own wanderings.

"Yeah, we're looking for a giant crazy robot...in a city full of robots. This is gonna be ca---hey, was that an android?"

Well, Lucas was trying to stay on task. Until a robot with a food cart passed them. This Lucas had to see (and probably taste).

Six shook his head as Lucas's attention was drawn to the android with the food. Well, he couldn't possibly be a bottomless pit like Rex, right?

"Go ahead and grab something."

It was obvious that Lucas was going to do that anyway.

Lucas leaned over the cart, inspecting the vaguely familiar and completely alien offerings within. Eventually, he selected a stick that speared several colorful bits of what was probably fruit. Six was lucky that Lucas had eaten only a few hours before.

"You want one?"

Lucas bit down on his, making a bit of a face.

"Nothing sweet," Six requested. "And not whatever you just bit into."

The look on the younger man's face practically screamed "THIS IS DISGUSTING."

To his credit, Lucas managed to gulp it down without gagging. A quick trip back to the cart-robot and he handed off a stick to Six.

"I think this should be better."

Six took the offered food and took a bite. Well, he'd eaten worse. D-Rations weren't known for their taste, after all.

Still, he was quick to eat and swallow it, basically bolting it down before he could focus on the taste too much.

Lucas took these few moments to scarf down his second stick snack, and also look around like a twelve year old at Disney.

"Ok, we're fueled. So...where to start now?"

Six had, sadly, never been to a theme park. It probably would've done wonders if he had.

"Now we start looking for a good spot. We need to try overloading that shield of its, so somewhere we can harness some fast energy would be good."

"I don't know what flying cars run on, but we were just getting electric cars. Maybe a power station?" Lucas shrugged.

"Probably our best bet," Six said with a nod. "Or a substation. I'd prefer not to take down power to a good part of Nova City."

It was very likely that hospitals would have their own generators in case of emergency, so at least that wouldn't be too much of a problem. However, causing that much mayhem would probably dock their pay some.

"Yeah, I don't think the general populace would appreciate losing satellite service, or whatever they have here." Lucas said with a smirk.

"Because if it's remotely like back home, people will just mill out into the streets...looking dazed and confused. 'Whaaat, no power!? What will I do without Facepage?'"
