Making progress against seemingly insurmountable odds.

We were making progress in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. There were literally tens of thousands of demons on the streets of Wilshire boulevard, all with one focus, and one focus only and that was to go after Angel, as they had most assuredly been sent by their dead demon masters of the Circle of the Black Thorn, if not by the Senior ( Read more... )

"Figure of speech, blue. Do you not understand that not bloody everything is meant to be taken so bloody literally?"

I observed Spike. "After this battle is over, I wish to spar with you." He looked at me with a smile on his face. I glared at his amusement. I wanted to know who those two beings were in the vehicles.

"Percy, ever done a paper on Rory 'the rage' Bronson? Because for some reason, he's bloody well helping us right now. He's driving one of the Hummer's. What the bloody hell is he doing out of England? He never leaves mainland Europe..."

"Rory. I've never heard of him. Who is the other person? Clearly, they wish to help us destroy these demons." I turned my attention toward Lindsey. Spike noticed before I did. Lindsey was to be killed. He is still alive. Something was wrong.

"Lorne didn't kill Lindsey? What do you think that bloody means? Did the sarvan kill Lorne, or did Lindsey?"

If Lindsey killed Lorne, he will be taken care of, quickly. Lorne was an ally of Angel, and a helpful servant. We would, no doubt, honor his spirit and get rid of Lindsey once and for all. Wesley moved closer to Spike and I, to observe the other man.

"Who else is it that you see, Spike? I can make out visages fighting demons near the vehicles, but I can't clearly see them."

I was still taken a-bloody-back by seeing Rory helping us, and that reason would soon be answered, even though we still had demons in front of us.

"Can tell you this, Percy," I said, looking back to him, as he was right behind us, gun still pointed forward, "Soldierboy is firing bullets into demons' heads from up above, which is also a good idea. Though he and his significant other might try to shoot me...long story."

I looked from him to Illyria, as she and I killed two more demons with ease, the glow that vision giorl had unleashed still leaving them sodding useless.

"After this battle is over, I wish to spar with you."

I was about to answer, when Wesley's question occurred to me again and I saw Faith fighting alongside somebody else, and more, I saw, once again, Buffy, fighting alongside Wood, plain as day, and felt a strong need to get to her.

"Percy, Buffy's here, so is Faith. Think that I just saw Lindsey knock out Giles too."

So much was happening and the whole slayer and Council crew that had bloody ignored us for so long, were now here. Lindsey was up to no good, and I took all of these things in and knew that Angel had too.

"Lots of slayers are dead, Blue, Percy. We have to get together with those still alive and form a line..."

Was hit in the face with my bloody attention span taken away, and a serious sodding claw mark now filled my cheek and I could feel blood coming out.

Blue killed the demon that had struck me. "Thank you ever so, Blue. I owe you one, and if you wish to spar after, then so be it, but first, let's reunite with our friends, kill the demons and figure out where we bloody stand."

"Rory. I've never heard of him. Who is the other person? Clearly, they wish to help us destroy these demons."

I ignored Illyria's jibe about wanting to fight Spike. We had to survive first and the fact that she didn't know Rory was inconsequential at the moment. Spike and I knew who Rory was, even if the other driver of the Hummer with him remained a mystery to us, though presumably, he was probably one of Rory's legion, and it wasn't Fangdan, or Spike would have mentioned it. We could deal with them later, and that was the bottom line.

More fighting transpired, when Spike, after, ntoiced some other people that with my human eyes in the darkness, I couldn't see.

"Can tell you this, Percy...Soldierboy is firing bullets into demons' heads from up above, which is also a good idea. Though he and his significant other might try to shoot me...long story."

That was also inconsequential at this point, his being shot by these two strangers on the rooftops, though as I looked up, I saw them, clearly and was just glad that allies were helping us. As Spike would tell Illyria and I, there were many more allies out there.

"Percy, Buffy's here, so is Faith. Think that I just saw Lindsey knock out Giles too."

I was uplifted that Giles had chosen to help us and had brought an army of slayers. There was no way that we could lose now, though Lindsey knocking out Giles seemed to fit and yet, be a mystery at the same time. Why would he go after Giles?

"Lots of slayers are dead, Blue, Percy. We have to get together with those still alive and form a line..."

I felt immediate grief, to go along with my pronounced, need to get to a hospital soon, weakness.

A demon hit Spike with claws and as Illyria killed that demon, I covered her back with bullets of my own, though I was nearly out of rounds.
