I heard Xander just on the fringes of going outside, heard him...heard him as if I were blessed with the hearing of a vampire. Set against the backdrop of demons screaming and howling and the crashing down of the deluge of the sky, I heard him say, without preamble, that Willow needed to go dark. To me, considering what was out there, I couldn't

I looked over at Giles. "Why Angel? What did he do? He must have done something really bad for this to happen." There was a bright light that went through the streets. "Did you see that, or were my eyes playing tricks on me?"
Whatever it was, it made the demons weaker. That, or me and Giles were kicking major ass. There was some guy fighting near us. I had no idea who he was. He was kinda cute, but older. He had a great fighting technique. It looked like he was helping us. I saw Giles look at him. "You know that guy?" I swung the sword into the demons heart. blood squirted everywhere and on to my clothes and mouth. "Yuck! I have demon blood in my mouth." I spit it out like it was a disease. Then I chopped anothers head off. "That's for your buddy squirting his blood everywhere. Giles looked at me. I gave him an embarrassed smile.
Something was wearing the demons down and it was the light. I still didn't know where it came from. It happened twice. "They're getting weaker, Giles. This is good, right? Maybe, they'll back off. I know you said they could be coming from underground. I'm thinking they'll realize they're losing and back off. It'll be crazy if we have to literally fight for days at a time. That's next to impossible. Especially, for the non-humans. No offense. This battle has got to end sooner or later." Apparently, Angel was responsible for all of this. Sure, they were only after Angel but I know they didn't think his friends were going to get involved. Besides, they were killing humans that had nothing to do with Angel. So, I don't really think it was all about Angel.
"We should ask that guy if he knows anything." I was still curious to know about this mystery guy fighting beside us.

I missed Eve already, but couldn't deny an instant attraction to the young, very young girl. She was strong, probably a slayer and she could be very helpful to me in the future.
For now, I had to proliferate the lie. Well, right after I took this demon's head off with my sword and then thrusted it, as if I were fencing, at another, pulling up and ripping right through it's chest cavity, and probably its heart.
"I'll tell you what Angel did. He did what nobody else would have tried. He attacked the leaders of evil on Erath, and killed the figureheads and now, the demons without leadership are fighting back."
I backed away, pulling sword back, studying who I was going to kill next, while all along, moving closer to the girl. More and more, i wnated her, and wanted her by my side.
"Did you see that, or were my eyes playing tricks on me?"
"Watch out, honey," I said, as she had to watch her back, and she ducked and sliced through the groin of her attacker.
After the demon was dead, I explained. "That glow comes from a woman who used to be just your usual knockout of a woman, but she bacame a higher being. That is the glow of Cordelia Chase."
I decided that I had offered enough information, but my desire to take this girl away and to a warlock that I knew, was getting stronger.

Claire, a young, inquisitive girl, had all of these questions, but before I could answer, this chap with the sword, seemed to have all of the answers and they both made sense. This was Angel's plan, I suspected, and I had also heard of Cordelia's rising, then falling into evil, and apparently, she had risen again.
Claire fought, this chap fought, and I battled back demons, before I could slice through their heads, which I was able to do with success.
Buffy and Wood went one way, and Faith and a young chap passed us on the other side. Here in the middle, many of the demons seemed to be fighting amongst themselves.
"You know that guy?"
I asked this chap who he was and he told me that he was a sometime ally of Angel's and that his name was Mac. It was good enough for me, although my love of Angel was very low at the moment. Slayers were being killed.
"I do now, Claire."

I tried to stay close to Claire and divert my attention away from the screams amongst the crowd.
"I dare say that is true, Claire, on one side, but to the back of us, they seem to be fighting with as much fervor as ever."

I looked over at Giles. How did he hear everything I said? He moved closer to us. Cute. He had that cowboy thing going for him. And, the semi southern accent. I am from Texas. But, he might be a little too old.
"Watch out, honey."
I didn't ask questions, I just did. He killed the demon that was behind me. I stood upright and gave a small smile. "Thank you. Uh, I'm Claire and this is Giles. Slayer. Watcher. And, you're Mac, huh?" For some reason, that name was too fake for my liking. He was an ally of Angel's. So, he could be a good guy. He also told us that the glow came from a Cordelia Chase. I didn't know who she was, but I'd love to meet her after seeing that glow.
More or less, I was waiting for Giles to step in with more questions. There was a lot going on around us, but this Mac guy seemed to know what was going on and he might know more than we do.
"How do we stop this? There has to be a way."

I nodded, though I was now getting worried about how I was going to get back at Angel. The herd, so to speak, was thinning and Angel had seen me.
I smiled for her, even though, now, she would have to be how I got back at Angel, at least for now, and my plan was a good one, still forming in my head. Claire was young and therefore, sexually, even though if I wanted to with my plan, I could make love to her sweet young body...still, she was a slayer, which if what I had in mind was able to be pulled off, was too perfect for words. Who better to hunt the bastard vampire with a soul that had double-crossed you and planned to have his green flunkie kill me, then a vampire slayer, who would also be missed.
Doctor Chievgen would still have his lab set up and it wasn't far from here. I doubt, with his plastic surgery clients in LA, that he would leave because maybe the Senior Partners were mad and left. He would help me out, or would be made to, and with these people in the hummers thinning the crowds, I had to do something and though I didn't want to hurt Claire, she was a vampire slayer and could take me apart if I didn't do this right.
After she turned to face demons, with the old guy there, I smashed her over the back of the head with the butt of my sword, and watched her fall to the ground. I then hit the older guy as he looked at me, shocked, in the temple and picked up Claire and rushed away, the way of some of the fleeing demons.

One minute, we...we learning about this strange American with the southern accent, like Claire's, and they were making nice with one another and he to me as well, and then the next minute, these individuals in the rather military-like Sports utility Vehicles were running over the demons, which was rather ingenious, and making it easier for the rest to survive.
I had finally been able to breathe a sigh of relif, until, of course, the other shoe dropped and our friend Mac, turned out to be nothing but an adversary. I attempted to strike him with my sword after he had hit Claire, but he was too fast and I felt the butt of his sword angle into my temple, and then I saw a sea of black.
I awoke a minute or so later, judging by my watch, which I had looked at before Mac turned out to be a decpetor, my head pounding, Mac and Claire gone, my pulse racing, though I felt nauseated.
I got up, alarmed and looked around, unmolested by demons, however alone and worried about Claire.
After incurring a blow like Mac had given me, I felt lightheaded, bruised, battered and sick to my stomach, but I saw Xander and Kennedy and pushed towards them, seeing Willow's body along the way, which made me stop, bend over and throw up, not far from her.
I needed to go down the alley like Xander and Kennedy had. I needed to inform them that Claire had been taken, but momentarily, I couldn't leave the sight of Willow's body. So many slayers had died, which left me feeling lost, but seeing Willow like this made me want to give up.
Only, I couldn't. Claire was live and needed us. I started, slowly, barely mobile, towards Xander and Kennedy.
