Two recent compositions!

Well as many of you have probably figured out by now, I like playing chess. I guess I prefer rapid games (under 10 minutes a side) because it suits trash talking better and it lets you get more games in. Not to say I dont enjoy longer games, but I don't really have the attention span for a 2-3 hour game, let alone a 6-7 hour game.

So without further ado, here are two wild games I played today.

The first is a Budapest Gambit Declined. (I've never ever seen anyone push d5 before, so I made up my response as I went along). I smelled blood and went for it. There were a couple moves where I was rather imprecise and no doubt my opponent could have found a better response, but it has such a pretty mating net at the end, I like it.

The second game is some Sicilian variation. No doubt we left the book behind after a few moves, and I assure you my Rook sacrifice was not technically sound, but I thought with the bishop pair, and how undefended his king was, I would have decent compensation. Opponent messed up largely when they played g6 instead of Qxa4. If they hadn't I would have been absolutely hosed. (I had missed that after Qxa4 Qd8+ Qe8 saves the day). Again, a sloppy game played in about 2 minutes, but the end is just such a pretty position when chess4capa resigns. Magnifico.
