Okay, forgive how this is going to read, I'm currently feeling the joy of painkillers that actually *work.*

Last Sunday, I fell at work. Badly. Ow. Strained/sprained a miriad of things including my back.

Of course, had to go to a Doc. Of course, had to stop working. Of course. They've tried 3 different painkillers on me, in varying degrees of strength and none of them have done a damn thing except the latest, which just makes me insta-sleep for, like, 4 solid hours. No pain relief when I wake up, but I guess for the 4 hours I'm asleep I don't register pain, or something. Not exactly how I want to live. Phyx was nice enough to give me an Oxycontin and, holy everything, it actually worked. Took 2 hours to kick in, but it worked. I'm a little loopy and scatty, but the pain is so lessened/gone.

The weirdest thing to come from all of this is the realization of how drug-resistant I am. I knew that Ibuprofen and aspirin on the lonesome don't do shit for me. I'm allergic to Vicodin, which is crazy, because everyone in my family lives on it... Soma didn't do anything and Darmocet? Marmocet? Whatever. Was the one that made me sleep, if I took the maximum dosage. (It said 1-2 pills every 4 hours.) I know I fucked up a lot of my prescription medication as a kid, but I'd never taken any of these drugs before. It was more penicillin and stuff like that. I don't get it. Ah well. Atleast SOMETHING freaking worked finally. I was starting to get really annoyed at how fucking painful it was.

Back to the original point (as I said, forgive me. Painkillers. Right.) I was allowed back to work with some restrictions. Those restrictions, of course, prevented me from doing my job, so I'm not going to be scheduled again until the restrictions are lifted. Which sucks, because no worky=no money. So I did the only thing I could think to do and that was file for disability. Flarg. It was a nice form to fill out, though, and I love filling out forms. (I do, seriously. It is kind of a sick obsession with me.)

This is the point in the entry that Phyx would be rolling her eyes and calling me "Druggie." Nyaaah. :P

With all this free time between Doc visits and drug trials we're going to take a trip to SD for Mom's birthday. Have to pick up a couple things from storage as well, so it's win-win. Very cool. 9 hours in a car could suck balls but if the drugs keep working, all should be fine. Yay SoCal visits for seeing parents :D
