Been a few months (at least) since I've actually done one of these, and though I sincerely doubt that anyone would read it, some of it needs to be/should be said.

So after seven years, I finally cut everything off with Jess. I couldn't take it anymore. It was like being in the most one-sided relationship possible, to the point of being abusive. I felt terrible when I was with her, like I was inconveniencing her just by wanting to be her friend. And when it wasn't that, it was her treating me as her wallet. And not paying me back, either. It was a bunch of little things - claiming she'd ordered my birthday present in early April and saying it'd take a while to arrive, and it was early August before she told me it was just a movie pass she'd swiped from her boyfriend's stash of them.

I've just felt so much freer since the whole thing's been over. I have one less person to look after and worry about and one less person in my life that I have to walk on eggshells around. I've had fewer depressive episodes, and everyone's noticed I'm in a better mood. I guess I should have done it sooner.

There's the bad; the bittersweet, but the good far outweighs those.

~ Still at Slaveway, but now I'm asst. floral manager - for the fat lot of good it does me.

~ Hit 5,000 songs on my iPod. Hurray!

~ Bought myself a laptop - should be here next week.

~ Paid off my $1400 credit card (so even with the laptop, I'm coming out ahead)

~ Still haven't written in months. Even crack!fic seems to be evading me, but considering how cringeworthy I found a lot of my old (well-reviewed) stuff... maybe it's a good thing.

~ Was in a brief relationship over the summer, but she was a passive-aggressive cunt, and I'm glad to be rid of her.

~ Got myself a new, possibly well-adjusted friend who gasp has money to pay for things/go dutch on lunches.

~ Miss my butch. I think I've only seen her once this year.

~ Really upset about my mini-break with Sacha getting canceled, but I think me and Katrina might go to Banff instead, so not a total loss.

Christmas Shopping Progress:

Dad: 25% done
Terry: 25% done
Alison: Done, just need to wrap everything
Katrina: 25% done
Mom: Not started, still figuring out what to do.

My list is boring. Baaah.
