Hell must be freezing over

As I look out my window, I can see that pigs are flying. Yes, they are flying on white fluffy wings with a grace one would not think to associate with pigs. They are flying over rainbows and leprachauns riding unicorns. While I gaze on this very serene and fantastical view, I know that below the earth, reality is not as idyllic. I know that under the earth's surface, many kilometres down, Hell itself resides. Hell, a burning, fiery pit of eternal damnation and punishment for heretics, sinners and evil-doers. But on this day, Halloween of all days, Hell has changed. It has frozen over into an snowy, cold, steely blue ice rink.

Why has Hell frozen over? Well the short answer, which could have saved a lot of melo-dramatic rambling- is that I have decided to write a live journal post.

What you say? Has she gone mad? The person who has pledged very adamantly against throwing herself into the blog-o-sphere is writing a post? Why yes, it would appear so. Though don't take it as an indication that it will become a habit. Because I still firmly believe in the principle that blogs are wrong. That it is way too weird to pour your thoughts into the ether. I realize of course that I am currently contradicting myself since I am writing a blog about why I think we shouldn't write blogs. Well...oh well. I am for tonight...a hypocrite.

I think I will blame slight insomnia for this perverse activity. Or just a general...well-I-don't-feel-like-sleeping-yet deal. Could be because I haven't been feeling well lately. Well, whatever the reason here I am.

However, I fear I lack a concrete topic to discuss. I never lack something to rant about, or lack the ability to stretch a few sentences into a complex, mess of sometimes non-sensical or even nauseatingly long paragraphs. But for tonight, what shall I write about? (Did you just talk to your screen? Because obviously I shouldn't really ask questions, since you can't answer me right away. Do you ever find yourself doing that though? We all put stuff in letters like: How are you? What have you been up to? But do you ever actually talk to the letter? Because that would be hilarious to see someone randomly say: Fine thanks for asking, to a piece of paper. Anywaaaaay...)

Maybe, I'll start simply. I turned 20 on Thursday...hurrah? Well my birthday was actual very awesome. My mom and friends were so good to me and made it very special. The whole turning 20 thing was ok too I guess. Can't stop age, can't stop time, so why worry about it. Though I will admit that I have always had reservations about getting older. I'm fine after the fact, I have just never been the type that likes to grow up, or be in a hurry for time to pass.

It is Halloween. Happy Hauntings everyone. I began my own celebrations this evening by watching Scream and What Lies Beneath. Not scary movies really, sort of more...people popping out of corners kinda things. Very enjoyable none the less. Tomorrow in between handing out candy to sugar-high, hyper-active witches and ghouls I will watch some other slasher films. Maybe another Scream...some classic "scream queen Curtis" movies. Or Ginger Snaps. I love that movie. Vampires rule also. Of course I will be forced to eat ALL the leftover Halloween candy, cause you know...waste not want not.

Well, I think that was a fairly successful first post. My only hope is that no one is now thinking: My God! That was so freakin' long and boring". If no one thinks this, I will be happy. If it turns out I am mildly interesting I can maybe even add some more people to my Live journal friends.

To conclude, remember these simple rules for your Halloween safety:

1. Never investigate strange noises
2. Never run upstairs
3. Only virgins survive
4. There is always a second killer
5. The call is always coming from inside the house
and finally 6. Please stay in well lit areas while trick-or-treating and don't eat any candy until your mommy or daddy has inspected it carefully.

Happy Halloween!
