How about the other inconsistencies? Remember the 80's, when South Africa were the bad guys because of apartheid? And how South Africa bashing was the cool hip cause, and there was all this pressure on companies to boycott South Africa (or risk being boycotted themselves by consumers)? And how it finally brought down Apartheid (and now SA is heading the way of Zimbabwe).
Yet there is no such outcry over India, where female babies are aborted because it will cost too much money to get them married. Where widows are ostracized and cast off even by their own children. Where the caste system is alive and well, where a man can have acid thrown on him for fishing from the wrong pond or where someone can be stoned for giving a glass of water to the wrong person. Where is the outrage? Oh wait, people of European descent aren't responsible for it so it's just how their culture works.
Where is the outrage over China? Where they harvest and sell the organs of political prisoners? Where over a million people are displaced from homes that their families have lived in for 800 years so the State can build a dam? Where again girl babies are aborted because they won't be able to support the parents in their old age? Where you have forced abortions and sterilizations? Where workers are paid little better than slave labor conditions and work in toxic environments with no protection? Oops, they're a major trade partner of pretty much the world, and nobody wants to call them on their shit and piss them off.
Notice how the outrage over the slaughter in Sudan is not about the slaughter itself, but that the US isn't doing anything about it? And yet when we do get involved we're condemned for it - both internally and externally.
