Yesterday Tanomi stopped in and we went down to the glass shop so he could pick out the glass he wanted for his shelves. While we were there, I ended up talking to the owner and he told me I could put some lights in the shelves, to bring out the stained glass. It didn't look too hard to do at all, just make a groove to hold the fixture in the underside of the top shelves, fix in the fixture, run the wires out the back. Turns out they even sold the stuff to do it, so I ended up picking it up. Now, when the glass comes in, I can finish up them shelves.
Looks like I got another project right on the heels of this one. Gohan and Videl are redoing their kitche and I'm going over there soon to see what they want for cabinets. Well, Bonk said he'd try to stop in once a week to help me with the sanding, yeah, I'll put him to good use.
This morning I saw Goten about ready to charge over to Yajirobe's and kick his ass for saying something about his dad. Well, I kinda knew the kid was pissed. He was SSJ2 and looking like he'd melt rocks with a glance. So, I figured I'd better go and see what this was all about. So, I went over and asked him what was up.
"I'm going over to Yajirobe's and kick his ass!"
"Uh huh, well, what you gonna do when that's done? Shoot some fish in a barrel?"
He stopped for a moment and looked at me. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Do you really think it's much of a challenge to beat up Yajirobe? The man couldn't fight is way out of a wet paper bag, and here you are, all pumped up to SSJ2. How fair is that."
He powered down, but he was still looking angry. "Grandpa, he's blaming Dad for all the troubles in his life."
"Wow, it really sucks to be him, doesn't it?" I shrugged. "Well, if you're really determined to do this, I suppose I can't stop you, but I need some help. Think you can spare me an hour to help me out? Once I'm done, you can be off on your way."
He thought about it for a moment, then finally nodded. "All right."
"Good."
Well, we went in the workshop, where I put him to work sanding on Miko's hope chest. And we talked a bit. Tried to make him see that just cause someone says something don't make it so. I mean, I agree with Goten, that was a weak thing to say, to try to blame someone else for your troubles in life, but that's his problem, it's not Goten's problem, nor is it Gokou's problem.
And, I also pointed out, if someone like Gokou, good natured, loveable Gokou, who has a great heart, but not exactly overloaded on the brains, could ruin Yajirobe's life, then that don't say a lot for Yajirobe's great mental capacity, does it?
By the time we were done, he changed his mind and thought he'd go home and do some more studying instead. And now I hear his wife came home. I'm sure that'll brighten him up.
So, that's been my weekend so far.
