"So, tell us about yourself..."
I'm finding out so many things that I've always known about me... Wow. Part of National Merit is that we have to list activities, awards, and leadership opportunities. Nothing new, I've done it before. I've never understood the necessity for leadership positions. It seems far too specific. For example, what if you read "List all the times you've ridden a bicycle?" Not everyone likes riding bicycles. Some people are no good at riding them. Some flat out don't know how still. It shouldn't matter because it's one thing. I realize leadership transcends some forms of categorizing, but it's still a category. For example, I could be incredible at every language in the school. That's not as impressive to colleges as being head of the club of one language you actually are good at. What if you're leadership drove the club to destruction? Doesn't matter, you led the club. Ah, screw it. So I'm not a leader. They'll still come CRAWLING TO ME!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
