okay, backing up a little.
if you aren't familiar with it already, the thing you need to know is that there is this community - sgastoryfinders. which is, well, exactly what it says on the tin. people post looking for a story they once read and can't locate again. i know, sounds boring, right? but it's magic. because what people remember, the things that make each story unique? money shots, surreal details, and crack. sgastoryfinders makes every story sound kind of horrifying and a little hilarious, honestly. no matter the story. this is extra funny if you know the story and it is actually v v srs. (but it's also fun to know the answer and jump in, and it isn't unreasonable to lose stories in sga fandom - there's a huge volume. i actually have one i've been dithering over posting a query about for almost two years, and i like to think i'm pretty good at re-finding them on my own.)
anyway. linabean has written a poem out of storyfinders posts, and it's funny and lovely and like a snapshot of sga fandom - creative output, conversations, willingness to ask and answer. it's a distillation and a reflection, and i kind of want to put it on a tshirt (lately i want to put a lot of things on a tshirt. dunno why, really. possibly i just need more shirts).
