And Zack was very unaware of all of these feelings and events. He knew that he had escaped from a fresh HELL-- one where he spent a lot of his time mostly out of it. A lot of unspeakable things happened within that lab. There were a lot of questions that Hojo apparently wanted answered. That ShinRa wanted answered.

The hope had only really hit him once. For Reno to come. To lie about he and Cloud being needed for something elsewhere and take him somewhere safe. Somewhere far away-- but he knew better deep down. Reno was a Turk. Before any other thing, that was his title. Not a person, not a human, not a lover, not a friend nor ally. Turk meant Turk. And there was no way that he would take that kind of risk; he just couldn't. And Zack had decided that it was for the better. He couldn't image Reno to be broken. To be restless within restraints or floating in liquid and waiting to be dragged out again. Never resting. Only creating people and places in his mind for some kind of happiness. He would have conversations with Reno--arguments, mostly. What to have for lunch. What would or wouldn't call for rumors. All kinds of things.

He knew that Reno didn't appreciate his words when that look surfaced. He wanted to apologize and explain that everything was just too bizarre--but it got worse. Six years? But four for him? What did that mean? He'd taken a step closer and hovered a bit-- this was a SOLDIER habit and one he often tried to work on not doing when around the redhead. He only did it now when he felt like Reno was keeping something from him. Like there was something he knew he needed to know-- as if hovering would give him any more luck when dealing with such a man as this.

"What do you mean four for me but six for you? How long was I down there? If this is really some other world-- why are you and I here? Where is everybody else? How do we leave? I can't be here forever. I have to--"

But who came first, right now? Reno was safe and currently not out for his head. Cloud was somewhere. Alone. Unable to do anything for himself due to the Mako poisoning his entire being. This wasn't a very good situation. He'd missed Reno... terribly. But if Reno hadn't seen him in six years-- what did that mean? He sighed.

"I have to keep running."
