Holy Fucking Shit

so i went to the video store, Hollywood Video to be exact, to rent a specific movie and i was thinking to myself if maybe i could rent another with the $5 i had. i walk in and there is this sign about vhs clearence sale, 5 for $15, and i see these two tables with a bunch of vhs videos. so im like "hmm", and check it out, being sort of disappointed at the selection presented, i move on to look for the movie i went to rent. i look and its not there. so i say to myself "fuck", and look around a bit more, and then i happen to see another sign which cleared things up for me quite a bit. something to the effect of....

ALL VHS IN THE STORE FOR SALE 5 FOR $15.

.....

what. the. fuck. i say to myself. and in disbelief i go ask the guy if what i read was correct. he tells me yes, every vhs they have on the shelves are 3 dollars a piece.
i almost came in my pants. i swear to god. and the thing is, the vhs selection at the Hollywood video, while diminished from what it used to be, is still like half of the store. A LOT of video tapes. so i didnt even know where to start. start checking horror, some cool shit already gone, but some cool shit still there. then Animation, then cult classics. luckily i happened to have a debit card with some money in the account. so i ended up getting a lot more than i expected. if i had unlimited funds my god i would have gone down every isle and looked at every video and bought anything i liked.

the movies i got were:
Hellraiser
The Howling
Nightmare On Elm Street
Meet The Feebles
Biohunter
American Pop
and
Vampire Hunter D

not even close to all that i would want. so its safe to say i will definitely be back very soon before they just take them all out and get rid of it.

i have sort of mixed feelings on this though. while this is like the greatest sale ever, i knew this day would eventually come. the thign is that this Hollywood Video has always been a cool store because while Hollywood is like 2nd to Blockbuster, this store and maybe others, wasnt like Blockbuster with just a selection of all DVD new relsease hits, and other assorted shitty movies. they actually kept the vhs selection quite large while vhs was being phased out everywhere. they had a bit more selection, more obscure titles, and just the nostalgic feeling going in there. and now i guess that'll be left to whatever local video stores there are left, and like Scarecrow Video.

while some people couldnt care less about an outdated form of media, VHS are like records to me. the novelty in collecting movies that i fucking love, that used to be the most common thing but is now more or less obscure. the way the covers look and all that. i love it.
