[ The transmission cuts in suddenly, pointed at the face of a girl in all black, and after a moment, it somehow pans out to capture the face of someone else who looks familiar-albeit younger, compared to the other two in the City. ]
So, the two so-called twins checked out, but they're older, right? Gotta say, that just wasn't what I expected when we ended up in the strange messed up world, but it checks out with all the guides they've got. Can't figure out why they can't just have one good source of info, but whoever's in charge might not want their facts straight.
So we go double-check everything ourselves. Well, triple-check.
[ That familiar face is rolling his eyes at the woman in front of him, a grin on his face that's long been lost on the two others in the City. ]
Hey, Max. You know they can't be twins, right? They don't look anywhere near as good as this.
[ The girl rolls her eyes, tilting her head back in an unimpressed way. ]
No, you just look younger. They look older. Somehow. Another mystery to piece out, because I don't think Manticore ever specialized in that sorta thing. But I figure either way? We've gotta start fitting in, just like before. Seems like we might have a chance to do it, too. Guide says there's stranger things here.
[ There's a pause, as she looks down at the nearby fountain water. ]
... Different, but hey, could be worse, right? Could even be nice.
Fitting in with the demons and aliens? I'm sure it's gonna be a blast.
[ The sarcasm is practically dripping off of his words at that ]
Beats being stuck in TC though. Just a shame we didn't bring some company with us. I can think of a few who could do with a day out around normals without being jumped.
[ There's a smirk now; one that only grows stronger as he looks back over to Max. His tone is a joking one as he adds- ]
Does this make us roommates?
[ There's a pause in which her face seems to move from blank to annoyed, and then she picks him up with a swift move and drops him in the fountain. There's a notable, very notable, smirk present now. ]
I don't know, Alec. Think you could handle me doing that every day?
[ He sits chest-deep in the water, blinking up at Max bemusedly. It takes a few moments before he registers why exactly he's stuck looking up at her, and more importantly, why his pants are now soaked through. ]
Max!
[ The name isn't yelled as loud as he wanted, as a mouthful of water splutters out alongside.
She's smiling, but she doesn't immediately respond, the video shifting from pointing at him to lifting up to her face. ]
Guess what? They were right about the "accidental" posts. Now everyone gets to see.
Well that's just great.
[ The words are meant to sound angry, but it comes out grouchy. One moment he's there, the next he's lying back in the water with a splash. ]
(( ooc: Max is the regular color, Alec is in blue. ))
welcome to the city folks,
not quite transgenic city
