"Liverpool 8"

Ringo Starr, the drummer of the legendary Beatles,
has a hit song. Ringo, born Richard Starkey on Madryn
Street in Liverpool, England, in 1940, is one of the
last surviving members of the biggest rock group of
the twentieth century. In his new song, "Liverpool 8",
he sings of his boyhood before the Beatles hit it big
in America. This nostalgic, but upbeat song, is the
latest addition to the Beatles legacy, and Ringo is
rocking TV audiences from early morning to late night
with various lengths of the song, although he walked
out on one show over its length. But nowhere more than
on Craig Ferguson's late night show. Ferguson, who
played Charlotte Church's rock star father a few years
ago in "I'll Be There"(filmed in Cardiff, Wales), was
grooving to the music along with the audience as
Starr performed his new hit, then "Boys"(on drums)
and "With A Little Help From My Friends" from his
halcyon Beatles days on last night's show, winning
wild applause after each song and a standing ovation
at the end.
