Chaotic landings and introductions.
So now I have LJ. Mmmm, I'm not exactly sure where to start.
I seem to be able to think of many things I'd like to put here when I am away from the internet, but when it comes down to it, I get stuck.
I am currently on winter holiday, so I get to decide the level of productivity I use my days for. My time so far has been cut up pretty evenly between anime, the internet and helping my sister work on a project, with a little work and sleeping on the side. I'm getting into the habit of going to bed late and getting up late, which is fine for the holidays, but will be a hard habit to crack once university starts again.
Earlier my mother and I want to the library, since I actually have time to read something now, but it was closed. AGAIN! This is the third time in 4 weeks that I’ve tried to go to the library and they have been closed. The sad thing is 2 of the 3 were because of a staff shortage. Either people don’t want to become librarians anymore, which I can partly understand since I’m sure it doesn’t pay a lot, or they can’t hire any more staff because they don’t have any money either. Both possibilities don’t look good for the general reading-material-deprived public. I’ll just have to try again next week.
I heard today that apparently Amazon.com is going to stop sending their products to South Africa. My mother heard about this on the radio, but unfortunately couldn’t get all the information. It seems that too much loss of product is happening on our shores due to theft in our postal services and they have decided that the cost of resending product is just too great. If people do order anything it will be sent by courier, which will cost the customer an extra R400. This is about 50 US Dollars. While this information might not be 100% accurate, it will really suck if it’s true.
I have just acquired some ice-cream. I’m happy now! ;)
