Orycon, Portland’s premiere science fiction convention, returns to downtown
Portland on November 4-6 2005. The Guests of Honor include: Kevin J.
Anderson and Brian Herbert. The three-day festival of books, art, science,
TV, movies, comics and gaming will feature over 100 hours of panel sessions,
workshops, author readings, and autograph signings.

Noted filker, Tom Smith will appear in concert as a special guest. One high
point of the weekend will be the  Masked Ball - a cross between a "standard"
Masquerade and a Ball.

There will also be an Art show featuring the works of Artist GOH  Paul
Guinan with many of the items available for sale. In the Dealer’s Room ,
approximately 30 merchants will be selling books, memorabilia and other
science fiction-related items.

Comprehensive gaming rooms and a program will feature popular role playing
games and scheduled events.

Pre-registration closes soon, on October 15. After that the membership rate
goes from $45 to $55 at the door. To get the cheaper rate you may register
