Birthday post, to date

Yesterday I came home from work early (as I usually do on Fridays, when there's an early shuttle) and enjoyed my late afternoon/early evening with Bean. And the rest isn't LJ-cut because dammit, it's my birthday post!

And I washed some dishes -g- which was very rewarding, ackshully.

And I did some work, which drives Bean nuts sometimes, but helps me enjoy my time off when I know where I stand with work stuff and maybe settle some details.

And she'd done some shopping and had a thing for me that "was kinda too practical for a birthday present" but did I want to wait? Well, the essential thing was "was there something else?". At her "yes" I said, gimme gimme. And it was another wicking nightgown, this one with short sleeves, that she'd found for a really good price at Tuesday Morning. (And, yup, I ended up putting it on last night. Hurrah!)

We ate things for dinner, and I ran out to the store for snackage, and sometime after 8pm, Mister NeverAndrei came over to play games. He turned down hot chocolate, which TOTALLY surprised me, but I'd forgotten that he'd just come from fancydinner with pantryslut where they had had 18,000 small plates, including molto desserts.

He's so funneh! He offered to come over and play Pandemic with us (which we'd previously played with him, 2 games thru) and I thought that was fun. So what did he walk in carrying? A *giftwrapped* copy of the game. (Yay! It's a fun game, and fully cooperative, in that it's all the players against the board. Thank you, Mr. NA!) And what did we end up playing? Ticket To Ride (American version), twice thru. That's a really fun game too! We have the Switzerland version, which is good for 2-3 players, but don't get to play the bigger version very often.

Mid-play, Mister NeverAndrei had recovered enough to enjoy some Vivani chocolate (oh, SO conked!) and then later, a chocolate-ice-cream cone. Me, I did my favorite thing to do with non-premium chocolate ice-cream, which is that I poured a little milk over it and made it all soft. Mmmm. (Bean had a strawberry-ice-cream-cone because she's like that.)

After our 2nd game, it was getting late for me but I was, miraculously, still awake and enjoying myself, so I suggested that we play Carcasson. Mr. NA hadn't played it before but it's got simple game-play, and we had the game explained and decently-well started when he got the phone call to go meet Ms. PS (who should maybe be PantryMama now?) at BART. So he finished his ice-cream cone and then took himself off.

I sat down with a copy of Fantasy & Science Fiction and did my whole dental-hygiene routine and then off to bed. (Where, as mentioned earlier, I ended up wearing my new nightie.) And when I got up this morning, I found a wrapped package waiting for me with a note that said, "Happy Birthday Love. Open this now - more later." So I did, and it's a new pair of micro-fleece jammies. Yay! They're a gorgeous periwinkle-blue color and I'm wearing them right this second. (Thank you, Bean.)
