A paper was 'published on PLoS today, talking about
one of the craziest looking dinosaurs I've seen in a long time. It was allegedly extremely adapted to ground grazing, like some ultra-specialized dinosaur cow (Poor example, as its being a ruminant is highly unlikely, for obvious reasons. This is also interesting for other reasons that aren't apparent to most lay viewers: It's bones are ultra light, yet it was the size of a elephant. This seriously calls into question several prevailing hypotheses that had explained trends in bone structure and function as a function of mass. Functional morphologists in this field will pay attention to this; it'll be good exposure for PLoS.
One of the science blogs I regularly read said this looks like something you expect from the
flinstones, trimming hedges.
