Today at work there was a lunch informational meeting thing for the study abroad program my department is affiliated with. I didn't go, since I am not an interested student and have nothing to do with the program; I helped fetch the food and set it up, and then went off on my merry way.
Except however many students came, it either wasn't enough to eat all the food or most of them weren't very hungry. And thus, I got a free lunch out of the deal anyway. A cheese & lettuce & tomato sandwich (dill havarti, and that plus the free factor is more than enough to make up for a white kaiser roll), and chips, and an apple, and a big chewy chocolate-chip cookie.
I call this a win.
(And this means the oatmeal I packed can be set aside for tomorrow. ...Hmm. Last time I brought oatmeal, there was a department lunch I'd forgotten about and I got to eat lots of free Chinese food instead of what I'd packed.
