Authors Note; This is my first post here, so please let me know if I am doing something wrong. And hello! *waves*
He knew she was coming. He could feel it. He didn't mind--he expected that somehow, sooner or later she would find her way on his doorstep. He sat in his favorite worn stuffed chair, waiting. His mind was on the euphoria, and when she entered she brought with her all kinds of...goodness.
Rack opened his eyes. He smiled at her, a greasy, thin lipped smile. "Never thought I'd see you here." He said to her. He eyed her, waiting for a stinging remark. Word round was that she was good with those.
She crossed her arms and stepped inside the dingy place. Her eyes scanned over it, coming to rest directly on him. "Show me what you got." Her head tilted, gold hair spilling down a slender shoulder.
Rack stood, accepting the challenge. "Come with me, Slayer." He said. His voice was slow, like molasses. "I'll show you a whole new world."
Buffy eyed him, contemplating her decision. She didn't hesitate when he reached for her hand. She slipped it into his, and allowed this magician to pull her further into the darkness. "I don't belong here." She said.
A smile. "They all say that." Rack drawled. "And sooner or later, they all come to me. They all find their way here. Where the darkness calls. Welcome to it, Slayer."
A door closed behind her. Buffy felt a flicker of fear, then a flicker of something else that was washed over her and she gasped as euphoria entered her body. Her eyes closed, and she appeared drunk, wobbling.
Rack was right. They all come here. Sooner or later, even if it's only in their imaginations.
