Actually, this is not connected at all with S8 -- I created my post-Chosen universe long before the comics started coming out, and virtually all of my fanfics are set within it. (I've been tempted to call it "ChicagoVerse", since that's where my new Watcher's Council settled.)

I try to make most of my stories standalone, so the little blurb at the top about "rather questionable spells have resurrected Tara and Buffybot, and more or less cured Dana." should be enough to get newcomers more or less up to speed. that leaves out a lot of detail, of course! But that's not Joss or the comics, it's me -- I just had to bring back my favorite characters.

Tara's ghost showed up in my first story, and eventually got magically zapped into a kind of artifical body -- my attempt to get around the problems of resurrecting people in the Jossverse. The remains of Buffybot were located by the military and brought back to life during a disasterous attempt to cure Dana's mental illness. Eventually -- and this was all unplanned -- Tara, Bottie, Dana, and my OC slayer Kara teamed up in what I call my "Four Friends" stories, because I suck at titles.

I've heard that Joss & Co. have sworn in no uncertain terms that Tara will *never* appear in the comics, although I can't imagine why not. They've brought about everyone else back ...
