Kitty stared at her necklace's reflection as it shimmered in the mirror. Her best friend held up a paw to bat at it. She caught his paw and held it gently. "No, no, 'Heed. I know he wants something, but I'm keeping this necklace." She grinned. "Diamonds are a girl's best friend."
He glowered; she laughed and petted him. "Cats are a girl's best friend," she amended, but his glower didn't lessen. She laughed again, and he finally grinned and cooed as she admitted to the dragon cloaked as a cat, "You're my best friend, dragon." He licked her face.
