[If you’d like commentary from me for one of my muses, go

[When Ruby!mun gave me the prompt for awkwardly!injured!David, an episode of TV was summoned to mind, of a poor, poor special victims police officer who gotten shot in his posterior area, and it was both awkward and injured, and my evil muse kind of latched on to that and went YES. DO IT. Therefore, it was done.
And also? It was entirely obvious that Christopher had to be involved. Because he would be far too amused by the situation, and Ruby would probably want to kill him. Christopher tends to have that kind of effect on women.]
Even from where he was lying, he could see that the fact that Christopher couldn’t stop laughing was starting to piss Ruby off. It pissed him off to begin with, but he was in too much pain to really do anything about it. Well, that and April was sitting on his back, [April clearly needed to be there, keeping him in that position, otherwise he would have been up and across the room, clobbering Christopher already. It was for Hitchcock’s own safety-and so that David didn’t make things worse.] trying to keep him still while Ruby was dressing the wound. It was an awkward position, but it kept him from getting up and killing Christopher.
“I’m sorry, dude,” he said, between fits of laughter. “I’m sorry, I really am. It’s just-it’s so perfect.”
[Christopher wasn’t all that sorry at all.]
“Swear to God, Christopher-when I can walk again? I’m gonna fucking kill you.”
Threats of death had never stopped him before and they certainly weren’t going to stop him now. That was a lesson that David had learned the hard way with this guy, and it didn’t stop him from muttering curses under his breath. He could feel the annoyance coming off Ruby in waves however, and he really, really hoped that she didn’t actually kill Christopher, because he had a feeling that that would make things twenty times more complicated than they already were. [He may have to kiss Ruby for killing Christopher, however-but it wouldn’t be a good thing later on. He knew at least that much.] It was bad enough that he was going to have to be off his feet for a while.
“Hey, jackass,” she growled, turning around to face him, and placing her hands on her hips. “A person who is supposedly your friend was just shot. Think you could manage to show a little respect?”
Christopher sobered mockingly, nodding his agreement, before raising his hand to Ruby in a mock salute. “Yes, ma’am, Nurse Barbie.”
[Have I mentioned that Christopher may just be a bit suicidal? Because it is. He would also find Ruby killing him an incredible turn on. He’s kind of fucked in the head.]
Ruby’s eyes narrowed and she started advancing on him. “What did you call me?”
“I’m sorry-would you prefer Lady General? I’m not sure exactly where demonic bitches fall on the military hierarchy.”
[I’ve also come to the conclusion that when it comes to dealing with Ruby, Christopher’s a bit like Dean (canonly speaking) where he doesn’t trust her as far as he can throw her, but he’ll put up with her, because she hasn’t actively tried to kill him yet, and he can piss her off easy. He has Senna issues. The fact that Ruby’s a blond doesn’t help that fact. David also has Senna issues, but that’s why he’s running towards Ruby. (He sees Ruby as needing a champion, and he needs to be someone’s champion, have someone to protect. Christopher and April both want to shoot him for it sometimes.)]
“Hey!” April spoke up from where she was perched on top of David’s back. “Can we deal with David, and the fact that he got shot now, and killing Christopher later?”
Ruby fixed Christopher with one last glare before she turned around and went back to the wound in front of her. She picked up a pair of tweezers-or at least what looked like tweezers, and started to move towards where the wound was. “This is gonna hurt.”
[Necessary statement of the obvious.]
It happened fast enough that he didn’t realize it did till after, but when he did realize it, fuck was he in pain. A litany of curses flew from his lips, and Christopher was collapsing into fits of laughter again, completely ignoring the glare that Ruby and April were sending him as Ruby dressed the wound and April got off David’s back. April slowly made her way over to him, and he looked up at her with a heavy frown.
[April can be a stick in the mud when serious bodily injury is involved. Otherwise, she would have probably been just as amused by this as he was. Plus, someone needed to be the voice of reason for the four of them, as Jalil was conveniently not around.]
“Oh, come on-don’t tell me you don’t find this just a little bit funny.”
“He was shot, Christopher.”
“He was shot in the ass, April.”
David just sighed heavily and closed his eyes. “Swear to God-going to fucking kill him.”
“Not if I get to him first,” Ruby shot back.
[Christopher, subsequently, got to ride in the trunk for a while. April managed to keep them from the killing, but that didn’t stop them from letting Ruby and David dump him in the trunk on the occasions when he got a little too drunk.]
