knee, food, and cat!
ah, what a lovely day!
i got up nice and early (10.45am!) to go out to my doctorb this morning to get him to tell me why my knee hurts. unlike the first clinic doctor (who was creepily checking me out) or the second one (who immediately dismissed my concerns because i am young and obviously can't have something wrong with me), my doctor told me about how the most likely thing is that my kneecap is scratched on the back, roughened if you will, because of the Q angle -- hips to knee to feet, right. he did a bunch of things, and even had me squat while he felt my knee. so basically i need to get strong and then it will be ok! he said that cycling is good for those muscles i need to strengthen (thigh muscles), and i should go to a gym with a trainer and say that i am having kneecap troubles and, yeah. so i'm going to be ok! awesome.
aah. last night we had a nice little dinner party. christie and kate came up with the wonderful idea of tacos! scott brought some sweet sesame/beancurd bun things, i procured veggie spring rolls, and caitlin and anna made a pasta salad. so much food! afterwards was art time, though i didn't do any. i did however come up with a use for the little journalbook that jordan got me for christmas. i've been thinking about making a little album of home and things for when i leave, so i will use that. yes.
ah what a mess the house is... we ran out of toilet paper last night and i have a leaky nose, so in the night i had to lean my head over my garbage can, letting snot drip out of my nose as i dug around for kleenexes that could be used a second time. yeah, fun stuff. ahem.
ugh, cleaning. it was also dan's birthday last night! the boys enjoyed the present i got them (they're always going on about how they're all aquariusses so i got them one of those astrology books. i wrapped the present three times so they each had something to unwrap! yep.
smelani went to seattle this weekend! i've only seen her once since she came back. wah! well, soon i will see her, most likely. yes.
right, cleaning. hmm. oh! we have a cat. by we i mean the apartment building! we, here in 10-forward (yes, that is the name of our apartment now, no matter what christie may say! (jonotron likes star trek too, see) we are apartment 10, after all, and at the front of the building. heh heh heh) thought that mojo (as i call the cat) was just hanging out because he likes us, but liam had talked to one of their neighbors upstairs and it turns out that the people who used to have him, up on the corner, just moved out and abandoned him. upstairs neighbors have food for him, and heather up on the 3rd floor even said she had him for a few days. he is *such* a sweet cat, loving and all that. he even knows enough to go outside for the bathroom, or so it would seem. so, he's a communal cat. he's a darling... big and black! too bad i'm allergic. well, christie is adopting caitlin's rats today so we'll have more animals here, i guess. hum, rats and cat... that should be interesting.
