Where to start?
I recently gave my old My Touch t-mobile phone to Uriel as he needed it more, and went to using his old broken motorola. I then thought about it for a good long while and decided to invest some sales money into getting a tablet. I wanted one I could also use as a phone so I eventually chose a Samsung Galaxy. It's a 7-inch tablet and I'm still learning the ropes, but already I'm enjoying being able to synchronize my notes and business finances between my main computer and the tablet. I never really use my phone, so having a tablet that also just happens to have a phone in it too works just fine for me.
Currently I'm using it to download sales tracking applications and I'm enjoying Evernote which lets me synch documents from my computer to my phone. I'm trying to centralize all my notes and have them so I can update and add stuff from everywhere. If you can recommend what you feel are any essential android apps, lemme know and I'll look into them.
Of course this Saturday is going to be the day that kills me. I've decided to do 24 hour comic again. And on a whim I offered to sell cameos to it, thinking that nobody would be interested. Well, guess what I bought that Samsung Galaxy with? Of course if you count prep time and item expenses I'm still only making slightly better than I was at my old desk job. Still, I AM making more than what I was at my old desk job....
I expressed my stress and nervousness to the livestreamers earlier in the week. They all agreed that there is no room for sympathy for the phrase, "They're trying to kill me with money!"
I'm starting to slowly realize that there's a trifecta to success that not every artist has. There's talent of course, but there's also people skills (who wants to buy from a jerk?) and also an idea machine that keeps coming up with fresh new things once people have bought up all the same old things.
Of course, I also have so much more to do. Little Tales needs an overhaul and I don't know a thing about code (And everyone who offers wants to throw Wordpress at me.) Uriel is going on vacation and I'm doing my best to make sure he has spending money (He hasn't taken a vacation in six years while I go off to conventions all of the time.
I also recently upgraded my machine after the motherboard blew out. I was getting bluescreens at random moments and none of the USB ports worked. So I finally broke down and got a new motherboard and processor, new ram, and a new case. I cannibalized the power supply, graphics cards, and sound card out of it though. Uriel inherited my old RAM and now we have an old Socket 775 processor we don't know what to do with.
Overall I'm feeling really blessed. My initial business plan was to eventually draw interest in my art via Little Tales, and I've slowly managed to do that. Now I just need to figure out how to organize all of this better so I don't spend half my week just keeping up with records.
Saturday, I will be ded. I will be so so ded.
