correlation does not equal causation.

vaccines do not cause autism.

developmentally and definitionally speaking, autism begins manifesting itself in a noticeable way to parents around the same time that kids happen to get vaccines. so parents are assuming autism is caused by vaccines, but this is not the case. the CDC, WHO, and others have launched massive research projects into this question, and have found that vaccines are safe and do not cause autism. the question has been asked and answered.

of course, parents are still going to be confused, because a large amount of them aren't scientists, and they're using heuristics to make connections here. however, it bothers, bothers, bothers me when sites like CNN are perpetuating this erroneous belief, ugh.
