By Feather, Branch and Stone

I have decided to finally venture outside of LJ and start a new blog. It will be called By Feather, Branch and Stone, and will be hosted on blogger. I'll post here when I get it up and running.

I expect I'll still use my livejournal, just for more regular updates and life stuff, as well as the angsty things that LJ is so great for (because of the relative anonymity)! I have had this blog since I was a teenager, and I'm now 30 years old. There are some posts on here that I'm really proud of, and some that make me cringe, but you know what? I wouldn't change it or delete it for the world, and I plan to keep it on here for good and still use it. I am simply ready to move on to a new platform that is more accessible to non-LJ nerds, and that I can dedicate to writing specifically about my spiritual path and experiences and adventures within my witchcraft tradition, IDGAF. I am ready for this new blogging adventure!

I also have a Facebook page by the same name, which was initially about my magical tool creations, but I will be updating it to encompass the new blog, divinatory readings and other witchy stuff.

I just wanted to let you guys know what is going on. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, but I do intend to still use LJ from time to time, because I still enjoy it. I always have, even during the times that it became unpopular and super quiet, or when things got nasty (enabled by the anonymity), or when I discovered pro-ana journals were a thing (yuck!). I don't know, for me the platform just holds a certain charm... LJ compared to other blogging platforms is like iPhone compared to android (and I like iPhones, haha!).

Since my last update, things have still been going along pretty smoothly and well. I am still feeling good and implementing my DBT skills. I am still working. I go to yoga classes and exercise regularly, although I have been feeling that I need to step up the intensity for a while now. I have been eating well and slowly losing a few kilos. I still drink wine, but I have cut right back to a really moderate intake and take regular breaks from drinking.

There are a few changes I need to make. We are outgrowing our current house and need to move. I want to do the CQ University STEPS program like I have been talking about for at least 2 years. I need a new job but I want another baby! Making choices and adulting is hard, but it helps that I'm genuinely happy and feeling better than I have in months (perhaps even years).

The last book I read for IDGAF was Helen of Troy - Princess, Goddess, Whore by Bettany Hughes and it was fantastic. It's a history book, but rather than being dry and boring it was a really juicy and entertaining read. She described the suroundings she was in for her research and the details of people's lives during the time Helen was written about in a way that really made them come alive in my psyche.

It sparked in me a desire to read the Homeric Hymns, which I now own!

I found these on my last trip to visit my parents in Cardwell. Speaking of that trip, it went kind of crappy. My Dad didn't seem to enjoy Jonah's company at all, and they criticised me about him a lot. Apparently he's not sociable enough, and it's not good that he doesn't greet people or use manners yet. Apparently this is due to failure on my part, and not the fact that he's a normal 2 year old that is developing in different areas at his own pace. It bummed me out a bit. I'm just glad to be home.

I plan to blog more soon, but I might save some stuff for the new blog, which I plan to post to soon! Exited!

Thank you for reading! I hope you are well. Love and blessings to you. :) xx
