IDGAF blog prompt: what is your favourite part of your practice and why?

I would say my favourite part of my practice is anything that gets me in the zone and I experience an incredible feeling of peace and bliss. Whether I am in ritual, meditating or mixing up oils or herbs, it doesn't really matter what.., that feeling (although it's fleeting) is what has kept me coming back all these years.

Jonah and I are in Cardwell visiting my family for the Easter long weekend. We travelled here by train. The trip went well, except that I hardly slept at all, so I decided to listen to a track from Christopher Penczak's Temple of Shamanic Witchcraft CD, which was a past life guided meditation. It went well. Without going into too much detail, I pictured myself as an ancient indigenous woman, who had been sent away during my menstrual period. I felt frustrated, but happy that at least I acknowledged my own power in that state. I saw the beautiful land and felt an immense connection to it. Whether it was "real" or not isn't really relevant to me, the insight I received was what was relevant.

I brought a candle, a few crystals, a tarot deck and some incense with me to do a little meditation and keep up my spiritual practice as part of my dedication to IDGAF while I'm here. My Dad saw the incense and told me it'll give me lung cancer. I've also started reading the next book on my list, The Circle Within by Dianne Sylvan. I'm a bit behind because I got distracted for a few days reading a fictional novel that my Mum said she wanted to read, so I knocked that over in a few days and now I'm focused again. The first time I read this book it really appealed to me, reading it again at this time I can see why Renée thinks it's a little pretentious, particularly in light of the fact that the author is no longer Wiccan, so the (excellent) suggestions put forward in the book lose some of their appeal as they were written by someone who ended up not being able to walk their talk. I'll talk more about what I'm getting out of the book next time as I'm tired now. Thank you for reading, and blessed be. xx
