I still can't believe it's true. I've loved her for so long, but then she was with Charles, and after a while, I gave up hope. I thought she cared about me as a friend, and just a friend; nothing more. But, apparently, I was wrong. As I usually am, in these cases. There I was, yesterday, explaining to Angel how blind he was in regards to Nina, when I, myself, couldn't see the changes in Fred. She completely shocked me with that kiss in my office, and I can honestly say, it blew me away. The kiss definitely cleared up any confusion on my part, that's for sure.
We spent the afternoon curled up on the sofa, kissing and holding one another. I can't recall a time when I was ever as happy as I am now. And right now, it's becoming very hard to focus on this demon bug nest Angel told us about, because all I want to do is go to Fred's lab, lift her into my arms, and carry her out of this place. There's something coming...I can feel it. The air is thick with impending doom
( ... )
"So we're going to act as exterminators, are we?" I ask, looking up at him with a grin. "I have just the thing." With a tilt of my head, I indicate the industrial-sized flame thrower sitting on the table over in the corner. "Most bugs I've seen hate fire. Dad sometimes used a blow torch to burn them out of their nests on the farm."
Raising up on the balls of my feet, I give him a quick kiss then cross the lab to get the flame thrower.
"Hey, could you give me a hand with the pack. It's kind of hard to put on."
Just as Wesley moves to help me, I notice Knox messing with something in the set-up out of the corner of my eye. That's the power generator for the experiment!
"Knox, don't mess-!" I start to yell just as the generator whirs to life.
Knox jumps back, his hands going up in a classic surprise "don't blame me!" gesture, and light suddenly fills part of the lab, refracted by the mirrors and catching Wesley, who had just been walking in between them. He stops in mid-stride, a look of surprise in his eyes. I feel my heart

Fred gives me a quick kiss before asking for my assistance with the flame thrower pack. I must say this woman always comes up with the most brilliant ideas. Case in point, the current project she's working on. I look at the mirrors she has set up, idly wondering what she's planning on doing with them. She certainly has come a long way since we rescued her from Pylea
( ... )
"I'm all right, sweetheart. A little shaken up and confused, but other than that, I appear to be fine. Of course...I can't see anything, so I could be wrong."Oh, thank all of Lorne's gods and the Powers and few of the minor deities I read about in that book I found in Wesley's office after I first returned to L.A
( ... )
We successfully cleaned up the demon bug nest. Of course, it was quite hard for me to concentrate on killing the bugs, when I had such a lovely lady by my side. I must say, watching her wield the flame thrower did get me rather...excited. We even joked about having a "roaring fire", and it all being romantic. Well, all except for the bugs, that is. We shared an amazing, passionate kiss before we were interrupted by our disgruntled vampire companions.
At least, we all made it out of there in one piece.
Right now, we're on our way back to the firm. Fred and I keep exchanging glances with each other, and we haven't stopped holding hands since we got in the car. I think I'll head up to my office for a bit, while she takes care of things in the lab.
Frozen in place, I see Fred running in my direction, calling out my name. But I can't look at her long, because soon I'm blinded, shielded in white light all around me, and then, just as quickly as it came, the light source is gone, leaving us in darkness.Blinking, I focus my eyes as the light returns
( ... )
Angel and Spike are so caught up in their arguing that they don't notice me and Wesley holding hands in the car. Spike already knows we're together now - he caught us kissing in the elevator this morning - but Angel doesn't know yet. Wonder how long it'll take him. It might be fun to just wait and see
( ... )
Fred and I are standing in the elevator with Angel and Spike, when her cell phone chimes. I concentrate on the staring contest in front of me, giving her privacy in case it has to do with the lab. And, it better not be Knox, because I'll strangle him myself if he's done anything else to her equipment. She turns to me with wide eyes, but before I can ask her what's wrong, the elevator reaches our destination, and the doors slide open.
I start to walk out, but Fred seems frozen in place. With a tentative hand on her shoulder, I ask, "Fred, love, are you all right? What's-", but I don't get to finish the rest of what I'm saying, since I apparently am already standing at Harmony's desk.
I blink a few times, but every time I look, he/it is still there.
I'm brought out of my introspective by Spike's reaction.
"Bloody hell! Who cloned Percy?!"
I groan at his overuse of that horrible nickname, but nevermind that. Fred looks like she just saw a ghost...er...my ghost, rather. I move to her side, taking hold of her hand to ground
( ... )
"I'm Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, but you should know that, considering you're impersonating me..."
"I think you are mistaken. It is you who is impersonating me."
I feel as if I'm stuck in one of those ridiculous 'Hidden Camera' shows Cordelia used to go on about. Any moment now, someone will tell us this is a joke, right?
"Who--or should I say, what are you?"
I'm about to answer, but Fred decides to bring something to our attention.
"His scar is on the right side! He's a mirror image of Wesley!"
"Well, look at that! She's right. Percy 2.0 has a scar too!," Spike exclaims. "Shut up, Spike," Angel calls out, still gripping his sword like he's ready for a fight.
"It's all right, Angel," I tell him, "you can lower your weapon. I don't think he's a threat."
I go back in my mind to when the 'incident' occured in Fred's lab, and suddenly, I come to the conclusion that this thing standing before us, is a direct result of what happened earlier. Oh, dear. Was I split in half
( ... )
Scar? My scar is on the right side? What is she talking about?
As Spike exclaims his agreement with Fred's assessment, I reach up and run my hand over the left side of my neck. There's no feeling of the roughened, slightly puckered skin I've had there since I recovered from being attacked by Holtz's psychotic follower. Slowly, I run my fingers over to the right side of my neck.
The scar is there. On the wrong side. And I suddenly realize that I'm using my left hand, not my right hand as I normally would.
My mind races back to the accident in the lab earlier, getting caught in the middle of the mirrors and that bright light. Was I split? Or did something else happen?
"Perhaps you, me, and our guest should go to the lab. Maybe, we can figure out what's going on from there."
The other Wesley's voice punctures my thoughts, and I realize that he's reached the same conclusion I have. But to hear him refer to me as "our guest"... I know that I am Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. I remember everything
( ... )
I nod, knowing that this must have something to do with the accident Knox caused in the lab with the Quantum mirrors, and then look over at the second Wesley, who suddenly has a look of uncertainty in his eyes. Is he scared because he knows we'll find something out or because he's as unsure about what's going on as the rest of us?
"We have to figure this out," I tell him. He regards me for a minute with those blue eyes that are so very Wesley and then nods in agreement.
Together, the three of us head upstairs to the lab. Wesley - the one I know is Wesley - stays close to me, his hand hovering at the small of my back. The other Wesley...Good lord, this is going to get confusing, especially if we don't figure out what the heck is going on...the other Wesley keeps a noticeable distance. I want to say something to him, to both of them, but I don't know what to say, and knowing me, it'll come out as a ramble, which is definitely not something I want to do at the moment
( ... )
When the three of us step into the lab, the power has been restored, and I sigh in relief that for once, Knox did something right. And, speaking of the Annoying One, he mentions something to Fred about a delivery, but gets distracted by our 'new arrival'.
"One...two...there's two of you?! I thought one was bad enough!"
I hold the blood vial in my hand as the second Wes walks out of the lab, wanting to call him back. What can I say, though? The best thing I can do right now is get the tests running, try to find out exactly what happened and then figure out how to handle it - one way or another.
Sighing, I turn and stick a little red sticker on the vial before placing it in the holder. Then I look up at Wesley. This is first time we've been alone since we walked into the reception area. Reaching out, I cup my hand to his face, gazing into his blue eyes.
"How are you doing?" I ask. I know that he can't be taking this well - I know that I wouldn't be taking this well if I saw a double of me standing there, mirroring all my gestures, all because of my girlfriend's--boyfriend's--whatever's experiment - but anything else I could possibly say sounds stupid in my head.
A part of me feels bad for my...er...twin. I know what it's like to be an outsider, and to feel regreted. Good lord, could this get anymore confusing? I'm feeling sympathy for--well--myself.
I watch Fred as she labels the vial. Finally, we're alone with no distractions. If Knox shows up again, I'm gonna knock him out. She reaches up, cupping my face in her delicate hand. She's looking at me with so much love and concern is in her eyes, it gives me pause.
"How are you doing?"
I lean my cheek into her palm, kissing it lovingly. "I'm good, considering the fact that I know how a twin running around."
I smile softly at him when he kisses my hand. That's my Wesley - always taking things in stride. "We'll figure this out, I promise."
I look over at the second needle sitting on the countertop. I want to just hold him for a while and forget what's going on, but I know we can't. We have plenty of time for that later.
"I'd better get your blood sample. Then I can get this started up."
"Wesley, I...if we keep this up...I don't think we'll be able to..."
I try to calm my breathing, so I can speak. Brushing an errant hair away from her face, I tell her, "Fred, I love you. But no matter how much I want you at the moment--and make no mistake, I do want you--we should stop before we get too carried away."
Removin' my hands from her waist, I give her a passionate kiss, before whisperin' one last thing to her. "Besides, you never know when 'someone' might intrude." I jerk my head in the general direction Knox went, grinning.
"Get to work. The sooner we get the results, the sooner we can...deal with things."
Like what one is supposed to do about having a twin.
He's right. As much as we both want this, we have to figure out this whole thing with the second Wesley first, and he's right about Knox possibly walking in - given everything else he's done, I wouldn't put it past him to come back in when I least want him too. Especially when Wesley's just said--.
Suddenly, my thoughts take a left turn when I realize what he said, all jumbled in with the other stuff. "Fred, I love you." Smiling, I lean my forehead against his
( ... )
Fred leans her forehead against mine, and I feel my heart swell with love and adoration at the simple gesture.
"Okay, I'll get back to work. But not before I say one more thing."
She pauses for a moment, then says the one thing that I've always wanted to hear.
"I love you, too."
I blink a few times to keep the tears of joy from escaping from my eyes. Does she have any idea how much those three words mean to me? Judging from the kiss she gives me before hopping off my lap, I'd have to say she does.
"This is going to take a while... We could go check the lab security vids in my office while we're waiting. Not exactly exciting, but it might give us some more information on what happened."
Nodding my head in consent, I say, "I think I've had enough excitement for one night. A break from all the chaos sounds lovely."
Perhaps there will be something in the security videos that can help us.
Taking his hand, I lead him up into the office. When we walk in, I suddenly realize that I only have one chair in here - I don't tend to get anyone sitting in here with me. Most of the time, when Wesley and I work, we're down in one of the corners, and all my section meetings take place in one of the conference rooms.
"Looks like we're going to have to share," I say, my voice cracking a little. We have to concentrate, I keep repeating silently to myself as we cross over to the desk.
Wesley sits down in the chair while I remain standing, grabbing the mouse and calling up media player to access the security archives. I wanted a way to keep an eye on my team members while I was in here because, well, this is Wolfram and Hart.
Suddenly, Wesley pulls me to sit down on his lap again. Must concentrate! I find the earlier files from the evening and call up the one from the time when the accident happened. Six camera views appear, me working in the top middle one and Knox working in the lower left corner one. When Wesley comes in, I

Holdin' out a fingertip, I make a faux-scared face and say, "Be gentle."
Hopefully, once she runs the tests, we'll have some answers. Or, at the very least, I'd idea of what to do next.
