Apparently some of you are on the edge of their seats and biting their nails to know how everything turned out for me and the Black and Blue Ball.
Well,... ONE of you is.
Thanks, Sharon.
Im finally getting around to it! Woot!
You can also find more pics if you have a myspace.com account
http://www.myspace.com/geminiwench My dress turned out awesome!
I made everything you see from scratch!
Corset, skirt, black shrug, purse, and even the hair decorations!
I drafted it all from scratch, even!
I went with Jen and Nisha, who are both Lilac City Roller Girls, who sponsored the whole shindig!
Look! Their beer matches their costumes! They HAVE to drink it!
Jen dressed up in Gothic Lolita wear, bloomers, hooped petticoat, and even a tiny laced hat.
Nisha, dressed up in dapper Victorian-inspired gentleman's wear including a belled felt tophat, cravat and a coat to DIE FOR! She even found some awesome Bowie leggings so she wouldn't be reduced to jodhpurs.
Miranda and Galor and I all decided we were eachothers dates, but it seems they had some fun without me.
Nothing much 'happened' per se,... just dancing and talking and various shenanigans see here:
Jen giving us her version of VICTORIAN GIRLS GONE WILD!
Lookit those bloomers! Has she no SHAME?! What would her parents say?!
Nisha gets hungry for some BRRAAAIIIIINNNSSSSS!!
Galor and Nisha taking funny pictures of themselves while I take funny pictures of them taking funny pictures of thems=elves.
Galor and I pose for prom pics. We decided that I was a busty international spy and he was the worst ninja ever.
Miranda and Jen take a moment to act like proper ladies for once!
A cover band was playing... they heard we were growing sick of the diet of Lynard Skynard they were feeding us, and asked if any female in the room knew the words to The Time Warp...
No one would fess up. I hitched up my petticoats, took the stage and as soon as I spilled the beer in my hand, I knew I was fully in ROCK GODDESS PERSONA...
Sure, I missed a cue and had to take a moment to find my place to belt out Columbia's part,... but, I blame their lack of keychange for the part, so I got a little lost... plus I was nervous and drinking.
And NO! I am NOT being defensive or blame shifting! YOU'RE being defensive! I only messed up because of THEM!
*sheepish face*
So yeah, that was the Black and Blue Ball. It was pretty small (75 people or so) but it was a lot of fun. As usual, everyone thought "dressing up" meant putting on pretty gowns and prom-type dresses... and Nisha, Jen and I all interpreted it as, "YAY! I GET TO WEAR A COSTUME!!!"
I can't help it,... dressing up has ALWAYS been a costume for me. I have only once or twice dressed up like a NORMAL person for a formal event. Ever since I was a little kid, I wore costumes to feel pretty.
Honestly, costumes are SO much better than normal clothes/dresses ANYWAYS! Losers.
As usual, "dressing up"
