Jesse
taradinoc has been having car troubles....
The steering wheel was shaking, some squealing/creaking when he started, and one of his wheels was SUPER EXTRA hot after stopping.
He finally got an appointment to get his car looked at.
He went to the dealership where he bought his car.
2 hours later they called with a $696 estimate.
This estimate INCLUDED the brake caliper that his extended warranty covered.
Even when you're comfortable, a surprise $700 bill can make you sweat alittle.
When you're walking the line between O.K. and Tight... well... $700 is alot.
Jesse got his normal car maintenance and paid out the nose for it and got a few appraisals around town.
I still smell like rubber after spending the afternoon at Alton's Tires... but hey, I got an oil-lube-filter change for $22, and Jesse is getting his brakes done for $140 after taking into account his warranty!
So now we're left to figure out just EXACTLY what the dealership was planning for the extra $560 they were planning to charge him....
We also find out that even though Jesse picked up his car from the dealership and DID NOT EVER give them the "go ahead" to order parts or start service on his car... his warranty company had already been charged for the replacement calipers they planned to install..... so Alton's had a hell of a time trying to overrule that so that THEIR work on his car would be covered. So, it sounds like the dealership was also bleeding money from the insurance company that covers Jesse's extended warranty...
AWESOME.
