The Hills Have Eyes

Yeah, good gore,.. pretty graphic...

And ya know what? I would live happily to never see a rape scene in a b-type horror movie again..

Its one thing to have a rape in a movie where the rape MEANS something... rather than just this weird flash-of-thigh, screaming-girl-who-is-too-scared-to-fight-back and used as more of a turn-on than a turn-off...

Ew.

Ew. Ew. Ew.

And, can you name three things more disturbing than a rape in front of a child or the sounds of a crying baby right nearby?
The only things that come to mind are things done to the children themselves... and hey, lets not let my fragile little mind go to that place.. but yeah...

No need for that shite.

Maybe I just read too much, but a horror movie has to have a STORY that takes longer than a sentence to explain.

Also, that explaination should never include the phrase, "... and for some reason....." such and such happens...

I think thats probably why I enjoyed "Saw" so much... almost everything was explained, it was complicated enough to keep a mystery, it was inventive AND graphic... and well... you had stuff to figure out. Stuff to work on during the scenes.

And probably why I hated 'The Ring' so much... all of its mysteries were embroiled in information the movie refused to give you, you have to use "and for some reason" at least 3 times during your movie summary and well,.. you were STILL confused at the end of the movie, and not in a good and entertaining way.

Ever seen the Anime "Perfect Blue"? That should be made into a live action thriller...

It would be AWESOME!

Thats a movie that left you with questions, but you talk them out with a group afterwards and find all the clues you missed during the movie.

Ill go now.
