Grape! Grape! Grape-grape-grape!!

*looks in the freezer*

Ohh,.....

*pulls out an orange popsicle*

Orange! Orange! Orange-orange-orange!

*walks away with pride holding the orange popsicle*

I love days off,... I have energy!
I have time!!

I can be lazy AND productive all in the same day!

Lovely.

Joyous.

Yesterday I slept in alittle, moved the couch, went present shopping, cleaned, made dinner, then went out for Alex's birthday, got home, watched "Lost" and went to bed,...

Possibly a perfect day. The only thing missing would be activities like "reading naked in bed while drinking tea/coffee" and "playing poker" or "cribbage and beer with friends"....

But yes, mainly, in general? Perfect.

*deep sigh*

"Saturdays" are the best,... even when they fall on a wednesday. That first whole day off where you feel like going back to work is FOREVER away and you can just ENJOY it...

Ahhh... *another blissful sigh*

Today I have about 3 hours to get the house as clean as possible for Jesse's parents/family who are visiting to see just WHY they loaned us $1,100 to live together in this place.

I like this place, and I like having groceries and counter-space and clean dishes,...
I like this because Mel came over to help unpack the living room some more, and we finished and I could say, "Hey, hungry? Want dinner?" and when she says "Yeah, sounds good",.. I have more to offer than .66cent box of macaroni and cheese or ramen... because I can say, "How about chicken parmesean?" and then commence making it from scratch.

Because Im awesome like that,... except for the fact that my broccoli took too long to thaw and steam and got served cold accidently... *embarassed face*

Then we got to go out for Alex's birthday!!

I dont think Ive left the house for fun and adventure since a month before the move! 2 months without excitement or adventure! Imagine!

Alex, Dana, Jesse and Mel were there,.. and Alex brought a few people from his work (He also works for Pawn1, but at a different store) So I had LOTS of fun FINALLY blowing off alot of steam about work to someone who knows what Im talking about when I say, "That asshole never wraps his own pawns!" or "How come noone ever bins but me?!" Or "I audited the movie section for lost loans and it only took me one day!" and stuff,...

Alex is trying to get me transferred to his store,... that wont happen until we have more people hired at my store,.. but Im psyched for that to possibly go through!! PSYCHED!

Alex actually really enjoys almost all the people he works with,.. he gets appreciation for the work he does,.. has time to do chores done at work,.... all sorts of things!

I got to get gussied up, I sang some kareoke,... BADLY. I was offtune,.. and embarassed,.. but hey, thats what kareoke is for, right?

Jesse ruled the stage with Cake, Janes Addiction and Michael Jackson,... which maybe makes up for my musical nosedive. He really rocked the songspeak magic of Cake on 'The Distance'... awesome!

And I got a chance to hear Mel sing for the first time! So apparently someone who's been in musical theatre and voice training since childhood who sings opera has an "ok voice". The terrible birdsong singing bitch! hehe

After all the excitement of the day and then I got to come home and watch "Lost'!! Ahhh wonderful.

The end.

mel, kareoke, work, pawn 1, alex
