Yesterday, Justin realized we had a whopping $75,000 of inventory to "pull".
That means there was $75,000 of merchandise which was in our warehouse that is SUPPOSED to be on our sales floor, for sale, making us money.
$75,000 worth of stuff that people defaulted on.
So, yeah, we had a Pull Party. Ie: Everyone stays after closing, gets big lists of inventory, and told to find it in the warehouse.
It sounds easy... but its not. Especially for the OLD stuff. Alex will understand. Noone else will.
Anyways, I only stayed for an extra hour and a half. Everyone else stayed till about 11pm. (that means that 3 people worked from 9am to 11pm that day)
Showered. Went with Jesse to pick up Sharon, Ben and Steve from the airport... they had gotten back from Chicago and found their airport parking parked car dead.
Jesse and I shared our love of
Trigger Happy TV with Ben.
Can I share my favorite?
A man walks into a very normal office for an interview. The receptionist calls "the boss" and lets him know that his interviewee is ready. Asks the interviewee to sit down. Normalcy. Normlacy. Normalcy. A MAN IN A DOG COSTUME WALKS BY NON CHALANTLY. The interviewee looks VERY confused. Another person in an animal costume runs by with a folder in his arms, looks like an intern in animal-costumed form. The interviewee is still quiet, sitting in his seat.
A call comes to the receptionist. He motions to the interviewee. "Sir, they're waiting for you in the boardroom. Right through those doors. Thanks." Interviewee gets up, walks to doors, knocks once and enters...
You see the scene from both INSIDE the boardroom and outside with the interviewee..
A boardroom full of people in full animal costume are talking one at a time in a serious manner, one seems to be giving a speech. The interviewee opens the door and suddenly they are all silent and just stare at the door.
The interviewee is flabbergasted and just stands there,.. staring at this room full of people in animal costumes who are staring at him.
People in animal costumes continue to stare at interviewee.
Interviewee continues to stare at people in animal costumes.
ULTIMATE AWKWARDNESS! YAY!!!
Then we went home. We watched two of my favorite shows. "Tom Goes to the Mayor" and "Its Always Sunny in Philidelphia".
If you havent seen IASIP,.. you should. REALLY. Its on the FX channel and KICKS ASS!! I love it. But I love awkwardness.. and thats a show full of it. Kinda like The Office is just a show based on a social awkwardness,.. IASIP is a show based on the idea How Stupid Can Four People Be and Not Fail In Life?
So, about 2am, we crept off to bed. 7am rolls around, the alarm blares and neither of us take much notice.
Both Jesse and I somehow (SOMEHOW) get out of bed and get ready to see an apartment at 8am. The woman is really nice, the house that has been turned into a duplex is really nice,.. the problem? The person who is currently residing in the apartment would NOT answer the door and so we couldnt see the inside. But its offstreet parking, all new appliances (so they tell us) free internet and cable tv, free storage, and in a pretty nice and quiet neighborhood thats close to everything. YAY! Its a 1902 gingerbread house thats been totally gutted, rewired and fixed up.. so its still cute.. but actually modern inside and therefore nice and not a 100 yr old fire hazard waiting to happen.
So, we will check out the inside when that tenant moves out after Thursday. Im excited. I REALLY hope its nice. It SOUNDS nice.
Then we went to the second place, which was a couple blocks away. A triplex. It was nice, and cheap, and clean, except that the dishwasher was like 30 years old and TINY... those are bad signs when people are as lazy and Jesse and I are.
Otherwise, it was nice.
We will keep looking. I will keep you updated.
Then I went back to work,.. worked 9:30am to 7:30pm. There was a mixup with my cashdrawer and therefore I was put on Pull Crew for the day.
YAY! My job was to pull items for awhile, and then I got to organize shelves. It sounds boring to do for 6 hours, but its FUN! YAY!! It means never dealing with customers and listening to music. I like BOTH of those!
Then I worked up front helping customers by showing them stuff, answering questions, wrapping, binning, etc.
Now I am home.
My tummy is full.
My feet hurt. ALOT.
Im going to drink NyQuil.
Working at 9:30am till 6pm tomorrow.. then POKER!
Last week I placed 1st! Im still alittle excited and proud.
I just want to place ("place" means to get at least 8th place or better) for every tournament this session. That would make me happy. And Jesse needs to get some points and win me some stuff when the Finals Tournament happens... because I always end up sucking ass at those... and he ends up kicking ass and bringing home sexy neon boozy presents.
I'm feeling cute, so Im sorry to subject you all to this,.. but...
I sorta kinda maybe like Jesse... at least alittle bit. *blushes* *runs away*
ALSO: A meme.
Orpheus
33% Extroversion, 100% Intuition, 55% Emotiveness, 100% Perceptiveness
You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you.
When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there.
You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.
Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches
Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas
