This was really beautiful. I love your descriptions and the references to Arthur's pirate days and his love of the sea. I'm looking forward to more of this!
(One teeny little typo I found, when France shows up to calm Alfred down, the next sentence starts off "The Freshman" instead of "The Frenchman". It's otherwise great!)

I can't say anything other than I love this! I love how somber the atmosphere of this chapter since the beginning until the end.

4th of July nation fic for the anthropomorphic win! I love that you tied the relationships together and created a sense of brotherhood between the countries, creating a good balance between their identity as countries and as characters. From England pulling a Yoda on America to France's explanation of that passing. I just hope none of the British readers of this fic get too terribly ticked off. ^_~
