HOWDY YALL
so i've been talking to davis a lot lately, and we got on the subject about what we wanna do when we "grow up". I think, for the first time in 20 years, i have found something that i truly want to do.
I want to co-own and operate a theatre in a town not as big as kalamazo, but bigger than frankenmuth or saginaw. I need/want to go into business with someone who knows about running a business from the money and finicky things like that, and me deal with the hiring of workers, getting the acts in, dealing with the planners for the banquets, and stuff like that. but still intricet with everything going on in that theatre. Maybe go in with two or three other people. But my only rub is that i have to be able to trust them, but not be too close of friends with them. So i have some experience to get under my belt.
i was almost brought to tears, because i have never truly been passionate a bout something that i've wanted to do. I have connections, because not only do i know paul loesel from new york, but another former student of my dads works for steppen wolf (sp?) *if you dont know, that is a huge theatre corporation, and shes in chicago working for them. Also, my dad is friends with the lady who did the non-production events for the heritage theatre, but now works for the choral society doing things for them.
