Ever since I got in touch with the English-speaking world, I've wondered what "C major" and "B-flat" and stuff like that mean. I had a keyboard when I was a kid (and a flute that I never used), so I knew there was "do", "re", "mi", etc. That was it, though. Scores always looked like an unfathomable thing to me. XD
So, after reading an intriguing but very technical analysis of La donna è mobile, I finally decided to look for a tutorial on YT. After only nine minutes, I feel enlightened! Of course, there's still SO much to learn, but those nine minutes brought back fond memories of my keyboard, and now I really feel like relearning how to play it! I also kinda want to take a course in classical music, so that I can actually comment on it with something other than, "This sounds beautiful." I want to learn the technical terms, too. ; v ;
I should be writing an analysis about a literary piece right now, but... guh, music is more fun. X3
