This was amazing! I honestly have no idea why you felt so awkward about posting this. Based on your comments on MSN, I got the impression that this was some silly crack fic with no rhyme or reason, but this was actually wonderfully in-character and explored some fascinating and deep themes.

I immediately fell in love with Patrizia. She felt like such a natural person that it was really easy to connect with her. Even though you didn't spend a very long time describing her, she immediately felt like a real person to me. Everything she did or said in this chapter made her seem genuine - most female OCs are either Mary Sues or so boring that there's nothing to be said about them, but Patrizia was awesome. I'm really jealous of how easily you include OCs into your stories

No, no, you're the one who deserves all the thanks because you keep writing these fantastic and insightful fics! I honestly don't know why you're uncertain about sharing this fic with the fandom. It's perfectly in-character, has lots of funny moments, and you already built the basis for lots of great angst and character introspection. Even though you've posted only one chapter so far, I can tell that this is going to be a really fascinating look at Romano, his behaviour and his thoughts. I think every Romano fan would like this. I might understand your hesitation if this fic was about him flirting with OFCs and nothing more, but there is clearly lots of substance in the fic.

Huhu, I had no idea that such things are fanon, though I was instantly reminded of that lovely Anastasia MAD about Russia.

I will definitely trick you into sharing this fic with the fandom. It's too good to be left to lurk in the shadows.

Well, let's see how the rest of the fic will turn out. But in any case, I'd still feel awkward sharing this with the fandom, simply because it obviously contains Romano/OFC. Maybe I'm just cynical, but I can't shake the feeling that most Romano fans would rather see a shallow Spain/Romano fic than a deep (?) Romano/OFC fic. XD

I actually think that MAD helped popularize the notion that Russia was very attached to the Romanovs and got hurt because of it. XD As for France and Jeanne d'Arc... I guess that started in that episode in which he's thinking about his glorious past. XD

I look forward to seeing how you're going to trick me into doing that. XD
