Hallo-whaaaaat

So. Halloween. Wow. I've been so busy this year, I can't say I really got into it. I didn't put a lot of effort into it this year. I had to work the giant ridiculous party in the Oregon District this year. Basically, they block off the strip of bars and charge people to walk into the street and then you go bar to bar getting hammered and looking ridiculous.

I've never even BEEN because it's insane every year, but this year... I worked. And boy did I WORK. I did decide to dress up. I've been told I resemble Flo from the Progressive commercials. So I did that.

For those of you who aren't in America, you might not get the pop culture reference.

She's very popular :)

Anyhow, the costume was a hit. Everyone at the bar called me Flo all night.

I showed up at 8pm and my boss handed me his keys and told me I was in charge of the bars. We had two small bars set up on the patio, a small bar by the door, a small bar on the stage and the main bar. I was responsible for getting them ice, change and booze and anything else they needed. We had about 8 gallons of premixed bombs on the stage. (Cherry bomb shots etc)... Well, somehow the table got knocked over, before we even got started and most of it hit the floor. Oops. Bad start.

Well, at first there wasn't much to do, but before I knew it, the entire bar was wall to wall with people. I've never seen so many people in there. It took about 10 minutes to cross the room. By 11:30, I already felt like I'd been there for 8 hours haha. We went through sooo much ice and vodka and jager and beer. It was insanity. There was hardly any violence, but crowd control was a little rough at times. Drunk people don't like to wait for things. The bar was so full we couldn't let anyone in for almost half an hour. We had to close the door and have people stand out front and keep people from coming in until people left.

Every time a really popular song came on and I was trying to walk through the room, the entire crowd would start jumping, singing and dancing. It was like trying to walk through quick sand... made of people.

At the end of the night I was covered in fake blood, beer, vodka, jello and god knows what else. My feet were about to explode and I thought I might fall over. I spent 7 hours on my feet.

When we finally got everyone out and shut it down, we found so much funny stuff on the ground. At least 2 dozen beers with maybe one sip out of them, one high heel shoe, wolf hand gloves, a bald cap, two or three sets of wings in assorted shapes and sizes, vests, shirts, feathers... so much funny stuff lol.

I got home around 3:20 or so and just crashed. I managed to get my make up off and just pass out. When I woke up... my hair was STILL all poofed up in the back. It was hilarious. I wish I had a better photo of my hair because it was just great. I can't believe it stayed all night.

I am STILL exhausted.
