Okay here's the plan...
So! I need to do a video audition for TLC for the cake show!
They want to see do a Q&A, see me work on a cake, see me do something competitive with friends and do something that shows my personality/interests/hobbies in a fun way.
This is what Brian and I came up with over dinner.
The first potion will be the Q&A, I need to find a cool place to do this. Some place interesting, but quiet so there aren't distractions.
The second portion, I'll be working on a cake. I will show myself doing some basic things, making fondant, frosting, cake carving, covering and shaping... Then a small slide show of my work.
Then they want to see me doing something competitive. What better than biking? We'll do a few scenes of me biking up past my friends at Riverscape with the city in the background and then maybe a couple of me holding the camera in the bike lane downtown passing my friends. Then a few cut scenes of me riding my bike past the camera doing stupid shit I do like holding my hands up in the air or pretending I'm running on my bike.
The 4th portion was all Brian's idea and it's the BEST.
I'm going to get Kevin to tattoo me! They want to see me doing something fun that involves a hobby and my personality. So I'll show Kevin putting on the stencil, then doing the tattoo, I'll make some cheesy faces and give a big ol thumbs up. Then we'll show the tattoo...
It's going to be a rolling pin with a banner wrapped around it that says "ROLL OUT". Bahahahaha. The rolling pin was my idea- the banner was Brian's. And it's hilarious and brilliant. I mean... honestly... how can that not grab their attention? They want something different, they want something to make them want to take a second look... so I think this could really do it for me. Who the heck else is going to get tattooed in their audition video?
I'm not 100% sure how to end it. I guess just me at the tattoo shop telling them they're crazy if they don't pick me lol.
So, what do you guys think? The hardest part is going to be trying to organize my friends to help shoot the bike scene before it's dark out. Do those Flip HD cameras shoot okay in the dark? In case that doesn't happen for me? I haven't ever used one and I'm borrowing one from a friend. Any suggestions there? There will be street lights and stuff... I don't know. I might just not be able to do the scene with the people I usually ride with.
I also hope Kevin can do the tattoo. If he can't, I'll have to find someone else to do it, which might be hard with short notice and light funds lol. In any case, I'm excited. It's going to be stressful to put this together on such short notice, but I'm going to get it done.
